Unless you're planning on getting a TRUE graphics card and at least 4GB ram in this new build, you're wasting your time. i7 or not. That current build won't work for the majority of recent releases right now.

Grenades are like RAM, you can never have too much

Gotta love prebuilts
Combining overkill processors with garbage GPUS

Dont buy halo 2, its -blam!-

Whoa, an i7? You sure?

EDIT: Ah, I was thinking of the i7 990x. Carry on.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Used. Xbox.

XBC, Kai.

You stand a 50/50 chance of making the game even run...

Well you could go to the extreme and install sh(V)itsta onto another partition. Then it should run almost perfectly, as long as you... no, your still screwed.

I'm going to go on a limb and say everyone who has said H2 PC is bad is wrong. The textures are incredibly nicer than what I remember on xbox. I'm nostalgiaing so hard through campaign, which I can actually go through on legendary with my trusty mouse and keyboard. The lighting engine is weaksauce in comparison to recent games but I can look past that for the fact that this is one of my favorite games. The price is right at 14 dollars shipped. It may not be very well optimized but come on. If you're a gamer and your PC can't play 3 instances of Halo 2 at 60fps then idk what you're doing but you're doing it wrong.

The game's great. Runs as it should. On board video probably wouldn't be the best idea. You can get excellent recertified GPUs on newegg (when they offer them) for a hundred bucks. RAM is dirt cheap. May I suggest making sure your PSU has the necessary rails and output rating before you upgrade.

No, you may not.

Well I will anyway. Cheap PSUs are a plague and I guarantee you if you throw on a full sized GPU with a factory made corner cutting computer with an i7 you're going to blow the -blam!- out of your PSU and possibly damage components on your computer. So if you have about 300 dollars you could supe up your computer, do a tad of overclocking, and blast through modern PC games. The i7 is a versatile platform and your computer could be future proofed for 3-5 years of gaming and longer for normal use.

My rig (3.4GHz i5 quad core, 8GB DDR3 RAM, GeForce GTX 480 1.5GB GDDR5 video card) has more than enough power to play H2V on any setting.

But more so than anything, my post touched on the actual quality of the game. The game sucks, dude. If you like it, it just means you like bad games. I say it's bad because it's not a good game to begin with, not just because it's unoptimized. That's just the tip of that giant iceberg made of turd.
