I wanna see how many agree with me when I say, "Innovation is the key to keeping people excited about a new release.". What if a new Halo 3: ODST is made that can get all those nay-sayers to quiet down and actually try it out? Picture the main menu.

Campaign
Matchmaking
Firefight
Forge
Theater

Let's explore the possibilities of all of these.

Campaign:
Set after the events of Halo 3, You are a corporal leading your fireteam against the flood. Its a bit later now, about 2553 or so, and alot of new vehicles have comeout, and alot of old vehicles have had the kinks worked out. You now have Hawks, or Sparrowhawks at your disposal. Guns aren't so cut and dry anymore. Attachments are included in your class loadout. Suppressors, stronger scopes, underslung weapon systems, and what kinda grenade you start out with, even what you look like can be class specific. Or, you can go the old fashion way and look the same regardless. I'll leave the narrative to you guys.

Matchmaking:
Since 343 industries is still comprised mainly of ex-bungie employees, (at the top anyway) I don't expect to see Multiplayer Matchmaking in a second ODST. However, if there were a possibility, I'd blend firefight versus with invasion. phase one you start out with 10 lives, An anti air turret (to discourage spawn camping) 8 marines or four grunts and four jackals plus whoever's playing alongside you. When the attacking team completes the objective, both sides get reinforcements in the form of 3 lives a piece, all your dead buddies come back, and reinforcements, however, number and quality of reinforcements is decided by how well you did last phase. You did good? Then you get skirmishers, but only six. Other team got murdered? They have 10 marines. Add in a possibility for one of the rounds to be a vip assassination phase? You've got yourself a game.

Firefight:
New to firefight...The flood. You and three other ODSTs are waiting for extraction when...you see something move out of the corner of your eye. You think nothing of it and continue along, but as you go to regroup, A tentacle comes down and kills you. you watch as the respawn timer counts down your body twisting and mangling in a terrible way, lifting the gun you once used. You respawn, shaken by what you've just seen but determined to make it out alive. Just like firefight, you have ten lives, but this time, when you run out of lives, you don't get bored and go make a sandwich, you get to control your disfigured, infected body. infinite respawns, and unlimited fun. Make it to the pelican for extraction, and best your friend's high scores in this creepy atmosphere of death and decay. Classic firefight is still available though.

Forge:
Making a map for the previous invasion/firefight versus mix would be better if you could decide what textures you want to use. Wanna make it look like a human city? Forerunner relic? Downed covenant ship? Before starting, you choose the flavor of your map, human/covenant/forerunner, and go from there. you can change what time of day it is, even the weather. This tech has been around since Timesplitters, why hasn't bungie let us play?

Theater:
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Have you seen my mind anywhere? I seem to have lost it...

0x0 x0x 0x0 000 000 x0x 000
x0x 0x0 0x0 0xx 000 0x0 000
x0x x0x x00 0xx 0x0 x0x 0x0

I have seen you future

While your game sounds fun, it would be more of a survival/horror story than something like ODST. The Flood attacks quickly and without mercy, so it would probably be better to have a similar story in a different part of the war, with the Flood as the enemy in one of the flashbacks.

Putting in new vehicles would be fun, but they should only be in the flashbacks. While roaming the streets you shouldn't have a supervehicle, it would ruin the feel of the level.

Attachments aren't really necessary with the way that Halo is set up. A more powerful scope doesn't make much of a difference, suppressors are also unnecessary (they didn't actually do anything in ODST) and under barrel weapons would just be an extra secondary weapon, not really necessary. What they should do is have suppressed weapons make it harder for the enemies to figure out where you're shooting from, but leave the number of suppressed weapons the same.

I like your matchmaking idea, but you should also have classic options, like slayer and classic objective games, and something similar to your idea, but where there are unlimited lives. It would work like team slayer where both sides have AI allies.

Just a point of clarification, there are not very many ex Bungie employees at 343i.

DLC for ODST is the only downloadable content I'd actually buy.

In my opinion, they should make this, and make the download free.
I've been playing PC games, and man, companies like Valve really know how to make their customers happy.

I wasn't really talking about any super vehicles. I really don't have any Ideas for the campaign, Just that it's probably set around the time of halo 4.I understand that the suppressors didn't do anything on halo 3 ODST, and intended to rectify that. Of course, when a you're a brute and the grunt that's been foloowing you for ten miles that wouldn't shut up is finally silent, and he's on the ground, you know the enemy must be near. But in ODST, they knew exactly where we were. Was it smell? No, cuz he would've got the drop on me. Regardless, I agree with you on the silencers, better, but not ultimate. And the flood are the current enemy, the covenant should be in the flashbacks. Stronger scopes mean you can be farther away from your enemies, underslung weapons are kinda silly, but damn near every weapon should be able to be silenced, shotgun wouldn't really be possible, and grenade launcher would be pointless. If there were slayer and such, you couldn't use your own loadouts though, it's kinda evil to let somebody start off with the rocket launcher or the sniper rifle. I was also thinking about new helmets for your avatar. Rouge from halo 3, air assault and
either commando (reach) or cqb (reach) come to mind. Can't have too many, They are new generation ODST, but they're still ODST, not spartans.

ODST helmet, standard
Rouge, For the truly badass with 60+ kills under their belt.
Recon. Think Veronica Dare.
Air Assault. Sorta like an ODST helmet.
Commando? or CQB? Lemme get a vote.

Plus any attachments you want. Want Romeo's goggles on a recon HHelmet? Okay. Burning need for the sensor array on the rouge helmet? Satisfied. Gimme some more Ideas guys, I want to make it sound so good, 343 has to use it.

Flashback segment has you hunting locusts in a Sparrowhawk under the cover of night in a covert black version, back on Arcadia, in the jungles.
