Subject: Destiny's new protagonist - What do you want?

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Somebody who dwarfs Master Chief in terms of the scale of his or her accomplishments. I just think some (most) of the fan base of him needs to die because they insult the name and character that could've been Master Chief...

I'm not really following what you're trying to say...

Build-A-Hero

I want this, kind of like how Fallout worked except with a plot driven story with only one ending, like Red Dead Redemption. So it would be like Noble Six to the next level.

Agree on the build-a-hero/character.
I actually would enjoy it if the game were to encompass some MMO features as well as a plot-driven story. It would be awesome if the world were always there, constantly evolving, and if it were to evolve by means of the community. If the basic plot were a type of "readying system" (to teach the players how the universe works and any terminology that is associated with it) and then everything afterwards were an MMO-type game that was community built, then the universe would be both Bungie's and the community's universe. This was hinted to in the ViDoc at least once (drawing a blank on who said it, though.)

I find it easier to relate with a faceless character like the Master Chief or Noble 6 (not the Rookie for some reason) than any other character, even more than a custom created character like in a lot of RPG games.

So you can relate to genetically modified super-soldiers in power-armor with no sex drive more than you can relate to a normal human being?

None of these are my favourite choice. The closest would be borderlands, but I think it's really annoying choosing from pre-made characters. In my opinion, making my own character like an RPG would be the best.

Considering that a lot of rumors are pointing towards a massively multiplayer online game, I think that create-a-character would be the best and obvious choice.

I mean imagine playing World of Warcraft of Final Fantasy XI:Online with a selection of only premade characters. It would totally suck.

What I'm saying is he needs to be godmodded, big time, for it to work.

In the days of old, there were legends of a land long lost to time. This land was known as Ranna'Mor. Ranna'Mor was said to contain in its borders 7 warriors. These warriors had once unleashed a veritable hell upon the ancient world, until they were locked away. My name is Toriad, and I am one of those warriors. Our return is approaching. Do not run away, do not cower in fear; take solace in your final days, for that is all we can do. -Legend of Ranna'Mor

Assuming "Destiny" has a single protagonist. There is speculation, and trace evidence, that point toward an MMO of sorts.

Yeah, it most likely will be an MMO, but ya never know. Either way, it's still interesting to see what kind of hero people prefer.

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

The player's character, in a sort of way, would be considered the protagonist.

Which is why I would like the Build-a-Bear...I mean Hero.
