I thought it was pretty obvious for talk about this game to belong in the Universe section. However, threads are kept alive and not locked here. Also, I've heard that Moderators agree talk belongs in this section. Why is that?

Doesn't make any sense to me.

My guess would be that we're not exactly sure what Destiny is, it could be a game, it could also not be. For now it's seen as something pertaining to the community, so it should go here.

  • 08.09.2011 3:12 PM PDT

I've been wondering the same thing.

  • 08.09.2011 3:12 PM PDT

I thought it would belong in The Universe, but it seems to be accepted here as well.

The Flood and The Universe Forum seem to be the best candidates. But as there is no forum for it yet we should just follow what the moderators say.

If it's about what the story may be potentially about then I would say the Universe forum. I'm not sure where other topics about it would go but I'd say the Flood for the rest.

"I don't care if it's God's own anti-Son of a -blam!- Machine or a giant hula-hoop!"

I agree. I don't see why they're still here, and the moderators are allowing it to continue. It just gives complainers another thing to say about the "mods being inconsistent".

If the 'move thread' function is still available and reliable, I think that's what they need to do. They need to move all of the 'Destiny' threads over to the Universe.

But in my opinion the forum set up now could use some work.

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

Universe seems to be the back talk about it, while Septagon appears to report the latest 'news', for example.

  • 08.09.2011 3:19 PM PDT

They definitely should be in the Universe forum according to the forum descriptions in the HFCS:
The Bungie Universe Forum is for discussion of all elements of the storyline, backstory, plotline, and canon elements of all Bungie games, including Halo, Marathon, Oni, Myth, and others. Additionally, this forum is for discussion about Bungie's potential future projects.I've been wondering why the mods are allowing all these Destiny threads to exist here. I have no problem with them, but this is apparently the Destiny/swag forum now.

  • 08.09.2011 3:21 PM PDT

Very good points. In the short amount of time that I get to look over the forums, I assumed "Destiny" was just something that people were picking up from the ViDoc (which were were instructed to allow discussions of in The Community Forum). Since it has apparently morphed into something different, which I honestly didn't pick up on, it should probably all be contained within The Universe Forum.

I'll ask the other mods and get their opinion on how we should move forward with the currently established threads and any future threads that may end up in The Community Forum.

Thanks for the support.

(Suggestion) All of the bigger speculation hot topics should just be moved, if move won't -blam!- them all up.

Yeah, move is only reserved for well-established threads... not the one or two page thread that was made 3 days ago.

How much harder is it to move a thread rather than simply lock it?

Considering the move function at this point has a tendency to screw things up royally, extremely harder.

And locking is just once click and all...

Out of curiosity, what does the move feature tend to mess up?

I'm guessing stuff like this. The OP's post was moved to the middle of the thread.

Oh, wait. Yeah, good question that. Wouldn't it be nice if we had some sort of bungie general/past/future games forum for everything bungie that doesnt have its own forum? That sure would be neat.

It was more rhetorical than anything else. Just repeating myself, as i am wont to do, this time about how changing the underground to the universe forum was stupid.

What's the 'definition' for the Community Forum? I see the whole 'gathering place for the bungie community', but yeah. Anything beyond that?

According to HFCS:

Bungie Community Forum (aka: The Septagon)
The Bungie Community Forum is for all topics directly related to the Bungie community itself, the Bungie.net community, and the Bungie.net website. Additionally, this forum is for discussion about World Domination, Bungie LLC itself, and Bungie lore.

Gotcha.

I guess for now it doesn't necessarily matter, as there's nothing else to really talk about. It's cool to see theories and junk posted here, as well as the universe forum.
