You've got to think crazy, of course, because you only get innovation by refining insanity. - Jason Jones

Because they want everyone to make up what there own hero would look like, trust me if you saw his face you wold be dissapointed. For a while they wouldn't show steve downs (mc's voice) face but if you pay attention you can see him from the mouth down to his neck in the halo 2 le disc lol.

just read the first halo book and you can get an idea of what he might look like in the games. they only describe him when he's 6 years old.

If the voice actor for MC was MC's face, it'd be a mustached Texan look (thats all i saw in the cd)

I would say exactly what scruss said. Its so everyone has their own vision of him. Its just waht the guy who created Zelda did (was it Miyamoto?)...He never gives Zelda a voice so people can get their own vision of Link...

He does. In the last level cutscene where he's on the Longsword fighter. After the Chief sits down and says "No, I think we're just getting started." You can hear the Chief take off his helmet and put it on the floor.

he shows his face in the books a numder of times. but its mostly when he is having a break from the fighting to get some sleep and something to eat. obviously in the game your not sitting down to eat so he doesnt take it off.

the developers probably thought they can get people to play even harder through the game, to see if they can unlock chief's actual face. but we all know in halo1 and 2, he doesnt show his face. he probably wont in halo3 either. =P

All I can say is. Wait for the HGN. It should have something in there, well at least a helmet less MC.

i know what you mean, but thats not what I meant. i meant as in the full face figure. the pics you posted were pretty well taken, and i can sort of see master chiefs actual facial, and even eyes layout. but it can be a simple illusion, a glitch, or even a hoax. who knows.

but as i said, i meant the actual face figure. i doubt any halo games will show chiefs real face.

It'd be pale as hell and he does have brown hair and eyes. Read the books.

actually if you pay attention in HALO: The Flood they describe him twice saying he has brown hair and hes has an unbelieveably(spl?) pale skin due to the fact he is always in is MJOLNIR level 2 combat suit(he couldnt believe there was a combat suit 6 times stronger than his)

EDIT: yes silent tone is a modder if that was a cut scene the camera wouldnt move like that

Well, in the fall of reach, when he was six years old, he had a few freckles scatered across his face, he had a gap between his front teeth and brown hair.
Later, he gets his head shaved and he had a lazer imprint the number 117 on his shaved head, which would later grow back, but the number one one seven would still be there.
At the age of fourteen, he had the body of a 18 year old Olympic atholete, so hes... tall.
His skin must be encredibly pale, maybe in one of the sequels or prequels (A fall of reach game!? YES!) he will take his helmet off.
