"Ultimate excellence lies
Not in winning
Every battle
But in defeating the Enemy
Without ever fighting."
-Sunzi: Master of War.
FjordStudios, to commemorate one of the most intriguing games of All Time, is stepping forth to stars and looking down at the possibility of Marathon rising from its shallow grave.
Combining both the original and second Marathons, Marathon: Rekindled will surely grasp the hearts of many long-time players in this new-and-improved remake. Marathon: Rekindled will use the Unreal 3 (TM) Engine to convey the nostalgic joys of the first game into our timeless variant that is sure to please a broad audience, whether they've run the race, or are just getting started.
Currently, Marathon: Rekindled is still in its Alpha Phase, and support for the remake is at its apex. I advise all of you young whipper-snappers, both grizzled and clammy, to patiently wait for our efforts to bring this authentic shooter to life.
It will be a while before results begin to turn-in, so stay tuned for further updates! Maybe even pictures, if you're good.
All rights of Marathon and its trademark go to Bungie. FjordStudios does not take credit for the original series, and would never try to "fix what isn't broken."
Update: Marathon: Rekindled has been temporarily halted due to Unreal Engine licensing issues, though it will continue soon.
