Subject: RE:Won't rank up

In response to a previous post of mine (which I didn't phrase right) I want to know how many games it to rank up in True Skill rating. I've been at it for 3 years to try and rank up, and I have simply not played enough games to get the EXP I need. My top Skill is in Lone Wolves and at it's current peak at 34. Just want to know.
No: nope ur bads, please.

it depends who you beat. Place 1st and 2nd every game and you will go up eventually.

I've noticed being first helps. Does beating people with a higher skill rating than me factor in True Skill ranking?

bro try using some common sense here. Im not trying to be mean, but what do you think?

If you beat someone with a higher trueskill than you, do you think you will go up or down?

Also 1st and 2nd are the only 2 places that really matter in LW. 3rd is okay, lower than that is bad.

Ok, thanks for the info. I just wanted to know the criteria for ranking up. Even if I average 2nd I go up? Currently I'm averaging 1-2.

4 basic steps.

Beat someone you are expected to beat, you won't go up much.
Beat someone you are expected to lose to, you will rank up more.
Lose to someone you are expected to lose to, you won't rank down much.
Lose to someone you are expected to beat, you'll rank down more.

Use common sense to figure out how you need to beat and who can afford to lose to.

Look at wins vs games.
Look at EXP in the playlist vs rank.

Force Colonel with 2300 exp in LW and a HS 41, you don't want to lose to, and if you win, it won't count for much.

Second account with 200 exp in LW and only 30 losses overall with a HS of 35-40, you CAN afford to lose, and if you win you'll rank up.

Get it?

R.I.P. Halo 2 11/9/04-4/15/10
If you havn't played Halo 2 online than you are missing so much. Plus if you have played a good amount of Halo 2 online, I might have a better chance of listening to anything you say.

And this is why we need the Halo 2 1-50 back. Trueskill just does not have "certain" criteria. Nobody will ever truly understand why it works the way it does while Halo 2 has a linear "win X number of games to rank up, lose X number of games to rank down."

Just enjoy the damn game!
Who cares about BR vs AR

Lol I can tell you exactly how H3s ranking system works. Its really actually pretty simple, although trying to explain it you would most likely be like talking to a wall. The system in H3 is fine, and maybe if you were good it wouldnt be such a difficult concept to grasp.
