Yes, this reminds me of the kind of posts on Bnet that I saw when I first joined, but that were rapidly vanishing then. They are making a return and I think that's a good thing. Less trolls, more fun.
It had begun to feel like a user's Title/Prefix mattered, but now it feels like we're equals. I'm not sure what's changed (could it be Halo moving to 343i?), but I like it.I think it's partially because the majority of users are people posting for the first time, and because the people posting don't understand the humour that is commonly used by the older community and the staff confusion occured, things were misconstrewed, things like the OP which to us is obviously a lighthearted joke is seen as a bad attempt at a "attack" of the Bungie staff and people fight against it. Whats more it stopped employees from engaging in similar jokes because they too could be misconstrewed.
But, luckily for us, Halo is off Bungie's shoulders and now the influx of new users has stopped and everyone who joined here just to sumbit one or two complaints of the most recent Halo game have left. Now it's getting to be just the core community, the one who understands and often joins in on these jokes and now Bungie employee can also get involved with them much more often, post much more often, simply because there isn't so many people to judge/misinterpret their actions and there isn't so many people that quote them just because they're employees or sending them hundreds of messages just because they found or who they where or just questioning why their text is yellow.
It's moving from a party where the majority of people are strangers to just hanging out with old friends, making lame jokes and having a snack, like it used to be.
