Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

There is no higher or more beloved title than that of member. It means that you are (like every one else here) a part of this community and are another member of the army.

If you are looking for a source of pride, get it from the last word in your title, not by any of the prefixes that may come over time.
Says the guy with the 2nd best title on B.net.

I've said it before and I will say it again. If the text and title were to go away tomorrow I wouldn't change or regret a thing. Unfortunately, they come with the role that I have agreed to perform, and as a result, I accept the package.

But if it were possible for me to be of service to this community without the text and title? I would gladly do so.

I dislike being told that my statements are given more considerations due to the title or color of the text. They shouldn't. My words should have their own weight, nothing more, nothing less.

Recon your words don't have more weight because you're a moderator. They have more weight because you're old.

Sounds like someone was rejected as a shadow mod. We all know they're real!

There once was an ugly barnacle. He was so ugly that everyone died.

The end.

I always said to myself, "Damn, the things i would to to have that title." Now i realize that hey, everyone is the same here no matter what there title says. Members should be judges by character, not by a few words next to their username.

Said the ninja.

It is but a coat of paint. Underneath it, I know what metal is there.

That made me shed a tear of pride. Either that or a really good case of gas.

7th Column, for life!

*sniff sniff*

I'm all emotional now...

*serious face*

I am very proud to be here. Being a member here means being part of an Elite Strike Force that will one day stand above all.

We will drink many beers in celebration once the Column dominates the world.

Despite my sense of humor, I am extremely proud to be apart of this Community. It means more to me than I can possibly ever describe to be a part of a Community as tight knit as this one is (when we aren't flooded by trolls who join just to hate on Bungie of course...)!

I will be a member here, and a proud member, until they shut off the servers permanently. Even then. I will still proudly bear the memories of what this Community, this 7th Column meant.

Period.

I also believe having the name of just member is fine. Special titles are also great, but just being a part of the Kick Ass Bungie Community gives me a sense of pride.

Think of the little kid as a member with no flashy title. Think of Billy as an entitled (context FTW!) member. Stay true to his advice. You'll be all the better for it.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

It's more that when skimming through a thread your posts tend to stand out, so they get read. Sort of like putting your CV or Resume in a plastic wallet so that when someone in HR tries to work out how many of them to throw away they notice yours and browse it out of curiosity.

It's okay, Mythics are just as terrible posters as everyone else and Ninjas get sick of the position after a while and end up hating the community instead. Instead of being just another member, their forum friends start complaining to them, sending them links of threads to lock and taking them to task over bans they deem unreasonable, or telling them they suck at their job.

Heavy lies the head that wears the crown.

I agree whole-heartedly. I am a normal Member, but a member no less. Just because somebody has a prefix or suffix before or after their names makes you no less of a member to this community. Just be here to keep up on stuff and have fun. Don't get caught up in the petty stuff. Not saying titles are petty but you get the meaning I hope.

I had no idea that this could become this "heated" topic and I never wanted this to be, but I have to state my opinion, my guess to why every Forum Ninja, B.Net Mod, and Admin get so much attention is we respect them, some people adore them and take it to stalking them, and members "like" seeing diversity with the Titles and colored text, maybe for some it is a goal to obtain these. The Titles do set an imaginary border between the members and the staff, but that isn't bad. If the B.net was run by randomly chosen members in the entire B.net, I think it would fall. So thats where roles for the staff come in to play as well as you, they have benefits that the members don't get so it sets you above the members while on he website, but in the real world we are mostly equal. Keeping the Title System, I think it helps maintain the community and I never meant to anger or offened anybody.

Expressing my strong liberal views without shame. Favorite quotes below:

"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe."
"One starts to live when he can live outside himself."

- Albert Einstein

You must donate a fragment of your soul to Bungie.

But in all seriousness, everyone on the website with the exceptions of ninjas and employees are equal members. The prefixes and different color bars associated with certain members only denote account age and ban history, as well as activity. In other words, nothing very meaningful.

Wait a second, people read these?

To be a ninja? You have to sacrifice alot of things... including your self respect and sum of your toes.

Well said.
