Subject: Why does everyone hate on Halo Wars?

< Insert witty comment/joke here >

Benjamin!

I wouldn't say -any- other, but I'm sure a fair proportion of the higher standard Spartans would have a good chance of accomplishing what he did.

Yes, but... but... unshielded honor guards... I mean COME ON.

I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

I love RTS's... but I did not care for this one. Nothing personal at all... just wasn't balanced enough for me.

um john is only 1 of the roughly 600 or so spartans that fought the covenant. funny because any spartan could have done what chief did.

Then why didn't they? Hm? Luck is what Cortana uses as the criteria for choosing John. John was just lucky enough to be he one spartan that could achieve victory. Every other SPARTAN lacked that mystical quality. John was the only one.

Fanboy opinion? I like the story as it is without Wars in it. Does that make me a fan? Yes. Am I a male? Yes. So "fanboy" could be an accurate descriptor of me in my relation to the Halo Universe. Am I working off my opinion? Yes. I won't disagree with that.

um because bungie wanted john to be the main character, he didn't do anything spectacular during the entore trilogy despite what the kiddies think. Any other spartan II or III could have done what he did.

Then why didn't they. LUCK! Is this that hard?

And shielded SPARTANs? What's supposed to have a shield doesn't and what shouldn't does.

Simple gameplay mechanic. They had no shields canon wise.
They were cloaked elites. Remember those shieldless elites who would cloak?

I hate it because most people consider it canon. It wasn't made by Bungie, so it shouldn't be considered canon. There are too many breaks made in the story, and it doesn't sit well with the others.

I don't care if its a good game or not. It might be. But it's no Halo game.

That's why I dislike it. Hell I barely even consider Reach canon, considering that the entire Bungie staff seems to have been drunk and clinically depressed during its creation.

Still crying over this crap?

1.) We already settled down that Halo Wars is official canon. You'll have to accept otherwise. Also let me clear on something for you: Halo Wars is set in 2530s, 20-something years before event of Reach. Also vehicles are fine as it is set in early 2530s and it was basically experimental but it was too expensive to proceed so they discarded it.

2.) Can you stop dick riding the Bungie? Bungie isn't perfect, look at Halo Reach!

3.)Its storyline is good and characters were well developed. And, before you use shielded Spartans in Halo wars argument, it was a simple game mechanic, not canon.

so you say it isn't canon because you don't understand the RTS genera and gameplay mechanics?
