How many of you would pay for a campaign remake, that followed the novel "The Fall of Reach", or as close as possible.

If the Angel Gabriel appeared to me and told me it was awesome and the same as the First Ed. FoR, I would. If Joe Staten did, No. I'd slap in the face and call him a lying -blam!- head.

Spartan 383

Really?

I would prefer something different, not based on a book.

question everything...truth has no pedigree

I would think about it, but only if they actually made the campaign fun to play.

Yeah, sure, I'd like a campaign that has about 3 missions as an Spartan actually fighting on Reach and have another 6 missions on training when they were 6.

My other car is a hummer...

What the hell is a puma?

I think at this point, I'd settle for a decent movie on the book. But everyone knows the track record of films based on games...

did you even read the novel? i think you mean first strike, in which i would say sure

It'd probably be just as laggy as the Reach campaign we have now so no.

First Strike had some ground combat... Fall of Reach had the planet being overrun without a defensive IMO.

yeah, which is why I said as close as possible, as I'm aware that a lot of the book is Halsey recruiting, then augmentation, then training...etc. I'm more concerned with the actual Reach missions, and yeah, a lot of First Strike would need to be included. This way fans would be happy that the game followed canon.

But if it followed First Strike you could rather make a sequel to Reach as an add-on. Much like how ODST acted to H2.

OP: FoR didn't even cover any ground operations on Reach, just some action in space.
And although I think that the ending especially should have included us going into space again to reach the PoA (which would make the campaign a lot more in line with the established canon and probably more acceptable to a lot more people) I wouldn't pay for a remake after just 1 year.

That's Canis lupus familiaris to you!

And to be honest I don't get all the complaining. Yeah, it was mediocre compared to the previous stories but characterising over one game while focussing on a the planet being attacked was always going to be difficult to get attached to the characters. Hell, I thought Jorge was done better than any of the characters in ODST.

Oh and people really should stop with the retconning complaints.. Halo is first and foremost a game, so the games come before anything else. Soon as crap like time traveling Forerunner crystals start popping up, frankly that's not what Halo should be about.

Not to mention the fact that other spartans still alive waters down chief's existence...

Ah, dammit, I knew there was a lupus in there, but I wasn't sure!
