The thought of this has been brought up many times. So here is what I think on the subject.

What I think - I personally think they should, now that Bungie is letting go of halo I think they should cut down on those forums.

What do you think?

I sort of see where you're coming from, but if I wanted to find a thread about Halo 2, I would rather go to a Halo 2 forum than scroll through several pages about Halo: Reach. I would keep them how they are :)

Why make this a thread? Just PM Qbix.

No, there's still enough activity and there are enough new threads on them that some good threads would be pushed of the first page, so the majority of people would miss them. Also, there is simply no need to combine them.

''I am the Shadow of the Samurai. End of your life.'' (Cue mindless hacking with katana)

The Halo 2 forum for example is like a small community that would not wish to be destructed by the reach posters, and possibly vice versa.

Let the Halo Forums be, their life support system has a timer anyway.

“Strange,” mused the Director, as they turned away, “strange to think that even in Our Ford’s day most games were played without more apparatus than a ball or two and a few sticks and perhaps a bit of netting. imagine the folly of allowing people to play elaborate games which do nothing whatever to increase consumption.”

The Black Chapter!

At the very least, HR and H3 are both still worth keeping separate.

Why? If they're there, they're there. And if your argument is 'some aren't used very much,' then there isn't a reason to get rid of them since it isn't splitting the population and combining them wouldn't increase it much, right? In short, by getting rid of forums all you're doing is getting rid of the site's history.

The webteam has their own reasons I'm sure- something about storing all the info- but that doesn't concern US, so that's not a valid reason for a community member to suggest this in my opinion.

I'm sure this would save some server clutter. Start a new forum and just call it the "Haloverse" or something along those lines. Then again, the Reach forum is still highly active and I'm afraid that it would wash out other threads pertaining to earlier Halo games.

Eh... It would be weird but I see where you're coming from. I'm undecided.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Umm, no. If the Halo forums are already unbearable, imagine all of them put into one.

It would be hell.

My reason would be to slowly help the people who are only here for halo off the site. >.>

I work for the Department of Defense.

One does not simply... Combine the forums...

Maybe eventually. After 343i have released Halo 4 would probably be the best time.

  • 08.10.2011 6:04 PM PDT

I spend too much time here.. too much time indeed.

I tweet?

Consolidating all the Halo forums into one will only prolong what I suspect is the complete removal of the forums from this site. What's happening now would just end up happening a little later when they decided to shut down the single forum.

"You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space." -Johnny Cash

I would like this. Not only could you combine them into one forum, but you could then even put it in the drop down menue.
