When I play Halo on my comp it runs smoothly then like 40 minutes later the game runs really slow (no lag or nothing). One sec im at a base then the next I'm in the middle of the field. I have the minimum requirements and my processsor is fine. I even restart my computer and it still does this. I tried changing my audio and video settings and all. Anyone got any ideas why this happens and how i can fix it?

its called lag, no way to avoid it except getting a faster internet connection. (dont worry your probably just playing in a bad server, this happens to everyone). If that happens just quit the server your in and find a new one.

If he says it's also happening in Single Player, it can't be his internet connection.

Make sure that there aren't any programs that start running in the background (I'm thinking about a scheduled virus scan or something). It's weird that it runs fine for 40 minutes and then suddenly starts chopping.

I had it too on my laptop and it turned out to be my CPU or GPU getting too hot and switching to a slower speed to reduce the heat. I solved it by placing a thick book under the back of my lappi (saves me a $50 laptop stand :p) to let the hot air flow away more easily. Haven't had any problems since.
