Don't -blam!- with Kerser!

I signed in today and went into my recent posts to reply on threads of interest to me, When i see a post written by me that says "I am a -Blam!- little boy and likes to plays Halo". I am 100% sure that i did not write this. I think i have been hacked... Is it possible to see where i logged in from last or something similar like that to see if i was hacked?

Now i know i definately did not post it because of the time it was posted... 10 minutes after i went to bed last night.

Change your hotmail password. Make sure there are no secondary hotmails attached to it. Then edit the post or tell a moderator.

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

Did you by chance log in at public place and forget to log out?

I was hoping that a mod would read this instead of me messaging them...

Did you leave yourself logged on after you went to bed? Because if you did someone could have used the computer to post it.

Also as a precaution change your password.

Doesn't it also give you tips for your hotmail account as well? You should definitely change your password, if you have not already.

Just PM a Mod. This doesn't belong on the public forums.

I spend too much time here.. too much time indeed.

I tweet?

The best a moderator can do is ban your account from being used by the third party that has access to your account. Though clearly seeing that you have access to your account, that would be an ill-desired, eh?

No, what you need to do is immediately change your password and possibly your secret questions/answers if they are something too simplistic. You'll also want to take the time to update any out of date information on your account.

While doing this it would be advised to run a virus scan. Just in case.

Chances are, and this is the most common situation, is that you filled in information on a phishing site or somehow revealed your account information to the third party which had gotten you account. The other common way this happens is through social engineering and tricking your windows live account information out of the customer service at Microsoft, wouldn't be the first time I've seen this one.

The only thing I can say is be more careful in the future.

  • gamertag: [none]
  • user homepage:

No one can hack your account. Your password is either so weak and obvious that someone can guess it, or more likely you stayed logged in on a computer (perhaps your home one). If you truly didn't post that then I'd recommend changing your password.

I changed my password....

How could they have guessed: HeyYyY--Y-Y-y34342-lol-halo

I changed my password to ***************************

I think that is a bit more safe...

Better to be safe than sorry. I try to change my password every 3 months or so, which makes my account feel more secure. I also run 2-weekly scans on my computer to locate (if any) suspicious cookies or downloads

I didn't say they guessed it, I implied you willingly gave it to them. Intentionally or not. A majority of the time an account is compromised it's the fault of the account holder. Most common are phishing emails and websites.

Now I'm not saying that's what happened to you, just that it's the leading cause.

Edit: Also it's nice to see that you include letters, numbers, capital and lower case, as well as special symbols. But I would also suggest not using whole words. I often suggest to those I work with that using the first letter of a phrase that means something to you is often a safe bet.

Also change it again.

What? I changed it and then told you my old one.

Your security question was how my account and some friends were hacked once.

If someone knew enough about you would they be able to guess it perhaps?
