מִכְמַן

I've been looking into the halo story line and have been drawing parallels from it for a bit over a year now, and whenever I talk about it, I always get mixed responses.

I'd like to know what the halo fanbase thinks in regards to the Biblical themes inherent within the halo story.

I may ask again in the future to see if any of the percentages change, but that won't be for a while.

Anyway...
Your thoughts?

I think some of it was intentionally brought across.

The Judeo-Christian Bible as well as Greek and Norse mythology. Add some well-read science fiction (which tend to all borrow from older cultural sources and stories). Leaving tibdits and less-than-subtle references behind can only inspire your audience to go out and discover other great stories and maybe even read them.

Yeah, I've recognized themes from other sources, and have read a cool theory on the parallel of Loki and the flood in The Watchers.

As many influential sources there are in halo, Judeo-Christian texts are my bread.

So no one thinks halo isn't influenced by the Bible?

I think its quite influenced by the Bible. For example, they need the Ark, and in the Bible, Noah's Ark beat the Flood made by God
In Halo, they need to find the Ark to destroy the Flood which were made as an experiment by the Forerunner.
Coincedence? I think not!

soo maybe this has been discovered, but i was thinking recently and i made this assumption...

fact: in The Gravemind in h2, the "oracle" says somethign about the installation having like thousands of simulated activations, and one ACTUAL activation.

my theory: the forerunner activated the Halos to get rid of the flood, effectively killing themselves in the process...

if this is old to you, dont call me dumb lol

I'd like to hear what the skeptics have to say about halo's storyline.
Any takers?

So... (not to double post or anything (it has been three days))
...no commentary from the skeptics?
I guess it is hard to prove a negative.
