I'll have the roast duck . . . with the mango salsa.

Are you nuts? They would never *just* let you in.

What if they had the slingshot blueprints out?

You can't see those!

meh...

wait a sec. you said the doors were locked, but you never said that the bungie employees used keys....

what magic is this?!

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Bungie is a place of business, not a tourist destination.

Though, that was really, really rude.

If anything they should of been like, you can look in the Lobby and maybe you guys could of got a picture.

Bungie just needs to open up their lobby to fans or some small designated area that does not interfere with their work.

I'm trying to become an '04, but it's not working too well."

How else would you handle that situation? Random stranger saying 'Yo, let me into your work'

After so many people ask, it gets tiresome. Don't think of it as rude. They weren't trying to be.

I am invisible, understand, simply because people refuse to see me.

Really, if you ever thought you were going inside, you were kidding yourself from the beginning.

As to the guys who didn't say anything, I'm sure if it was urk or Achronos (or other public figures of Bungie), they would have said something. Not everyone's as outgoing as they are, you know.

For any company that is developing things that need to be kept hidden from the public, even allowing someone into the lobby is a security hassle. Even for companies like RIM, which I've worked for, that are terrible at keeping things secret, security is still a huge deal. For a company like Bungie that is successful at keeping things secret, I'd imagine that security is even tighter.

Exactly!! Wouldn't it be cool if Bungie's lobby has like a "history of Bungie" section? It would be nice just to stop by and see it.

I mean yeah if they sealed off the rest of the building to guests, people sign a waiver not to go past non-approved parts of Bungie, etc.

I think it would be fun.

Dude, NO means no. IF they don't want to give you a tour, there's nothing else you can do about it. IT's not a aquarium!

There is one. Right here on Bungie.net

Not to mention a new ViDoc going through their past.

Don't abandon your hopes and dreams, but don't try to force yourself on a company that is hard at work trying to create the next big thing.

If I buy 2 large pizzas will you guys let me in? I am desperate :(
I hope this is just a tongue-in-cheek joke and you're not ACTUALLY desperate. It's not like Willy Wonka's chocolate factory in there or something. There are no Oompa Loompas; it's an office, albeit full of people who do exceptionally cool stuff.

Even community members who have been invited to Bungie in the past don't ever get past the lobby/contract tester area anyway. And there have STILL been a couple of leaks from loose-lipped community members, even after they signed non-disclosure agreements!

You can bet that right now, with a secret new title in the works, Bungie is bound to be even more security-conscious. If you want to meet Bungie folks, come hang out with the community at PAX in two weeks. You'll definitely get a chance to talk to a few of them in a much more relaxed environment where you're not "treading on their turf," so to speak.

Exactly. The actual upstairs tours, I've heard anyway, are more for family and friends, rather than for the community's invitations.

Which is why I'll reiterate:

The closest the majority of the community will get to seeing inside Bungie will be watching the new studio tour urk did a while back.

And then there's the whole One of Seven thing; which will be interesting to hear about next Bungie Day.

Two places I would much rather visit then the Bungie Studio are the Skywalker Ranch and Blizzard's campus. At least with those places you have someting to see.

@Helveck

Just an Average Joe...

And you're telling me that if the employee were to have said, "Sorry, we're not allowed to give tours", that you wouldn't have replied with "But/Come on/Aw please", etc? Yeah, I don't think so.

Shaking his head and walking away was probably the smartest thing to do. They're at work to do a job, and that particular job is not PR work. So, they don't need to be friendly to you. And just because the mans customer service skills weren't to your liking doesn't exactly classify him as "rude".

  • 08.11.2011 11:40 PM PDT

Does anyone even read these?

You should protest outside the studio and maybe they'll bring you lunch like Gaben did at Valve.

I wish i would have known you were coming, i would have left an air vent door open for you. The only trouble with my tour though, no bathrooms.
