Thought it'd be nice to see a thread about all of the stuff that we remember and loved from our times with Bungie (kind of like a ForumDoc ^.^)
As someone who has been with Bungie since the Xbox came out (when I was... 11...) I thought the ViDoc was incredible and a great end to an amazing legacy. Bungie did an awesome job with the Halo universe, and while I am sad to see them leave it behind I am sure that whatever they do next wil be just as spectacular.
The ViDoc brought back so many memories, it was actually pretty incredible.
I remember getting my original Xbox with the Duke controller, and seeing the Halo images on the box only to start playing the game and actually experience its awesomeness. I remember playing blood gulch and stealing all of the scorpions and putting them on one of the hills so that everyone else couldn't use them.
I remember the release of the Halo 2 trailer and how blown away everyone was by the new graphics and the new gun (BR omg!) As more and more details came out it seemed more and more unreal, and I even got my hands on one of the Halo 2 collector's editions by making one of the Blockbuster employees drive to another blockbuster because the first blockbuster had sold my preorder!
I remember seeing that initial Halo 3 trailer where the Chief walks out of the dust, seeing the bubble shield's debut video, and looking for all of the clues and easter eggs in the video. I remember the excitement that surrounded the Halo 3 launch, and that launch was, in my mind, what ultimately set the precedent for launches of games like Call of Duty (even if my mom didn't let me go because it was "on a school day.")
I remember being disappointed with the idea of ODST, and thinking that it was just a money maker. I remember how pleasantly surprised I was with the enjoyable campaign (and how Nathan Fillion was a main voice! chyea Firefly.)
I remember the release of Reach, and how excited I was to be a part of Bungie's final legacy. I remember the epic storyline, and how distraught I was with the loss of each member of Noble 6 (RIP Jorge.)
Thank you Bungie for the legacy you have left behind, and I look forward to seeing you starside!
