Ever since the slight update of Bungie.net, I've noticed visual problems with it.

Picture.

Most times it seems to be random, but I learnt how to recreate it by changing my avatar. It happens when I report posts too.

Just thought I'd post it. Kinda irritating to be honest.

"We live in a special time; the only time where we can observationally verify that we live in a very special time" - Lawrence Krauss.

I was a finalist :P

It seems intentional, as I have had that same feature for some time.

That's not a bug.

That's part of the "map" that graces the tickets for the "One of Seven" contest, as well as part of the design for the background to B.net.

It is there intentionally.

It is there intentionally.

The background image is made up of three parts. A black image with 'stars' which is tiled and then on top there are two images (The map) stacked on top of each other.

This 'glitch' makes the bottom image pop up on top of the other layers (Like the forum, for instance.) If it was intentional, both images would pop up.

(Not worded very well, but whatever.)

*sigh*

No. You're wrong.

It is simply a part of the map that pops up as a sort of impromptu "loading" screen. And besides, they ddon't have to use both parts. When creating this interesting little tid-bit, a good graphic artist can do whatever he/she wants wwith an image, including using only part of it.

That's what Bungie did here. TO pimp out their new I.P. in some way, thus keeping our interest up, but without revealing any secrets to said project.

It's really a very simple idea if you sit and think about it.

So half of the background image popping in front of the other layers is intentional?

Right.

Yes. It is.

It is part of the mystique surrounding the new universe.

It is done this way to keep speculation and interest for the new Universe high. To keep the rampant speculation about what they are doing running rampant.

As well as introducing cool new things as they morph the site to more closely resemble the look and feel of their new Universe.

Really, bro, it isn't that far out there if you'd just use some common sense...

You're an idiot.

If they wanted to make a 'loading screen' of sorts, they wouldn't of literally removed half of the background image to make it.

Look at the image I linked. Notice how the nebula is cut off half way through the page?

I don't have an image linked, but it sometimes covers the forums too. Tell me, why would someone design that?

Pull your head out mate. I don't even know why you're trying to push this off as intentional.

*sigh*

I tried. But apparently common sense has no place in this thread.

Cool OP. Believe what you'd like, you're apparently going to anyway, regardless of any argument to the contrary.

I'm not even worried about the "you're an idiot" comment, this is just a sad, sad situation of denial.

Do your thing OP. You were always going to anyway.

I just don't understand why you'd create a thread for discussing a topic if you aren't going to even consider other peoples replies as possible.

It just makes no sense...

I did consider it. But it doesn't make any sense at all to literally take half of the background image and use it for something else.

Sure, you could copy it for something else. But that's not what is being done here.

You've completely ignored all my comments and said "It was intentional". Open your eyes.

Yeah, it looks like a bug.

body > div:first-child
{
background:url(/images/dark/lower_neb.png) no-repeat center bottom fixed;
}
That rule is being applied to the grey overlay div that shows up when you choose a page.

Pretty sure, anyway.
