Are. You. Serious. I was originally planning to get halo anniversary, but it turns out that it uses the reach engine and you need reach to play. Are you kidding me? I sold reach. You know why? Because it is complete and utter GARBAGE. Halo CE, 2, and 3 are all amazing games because of their core gameplay and multiplayer. I spent countless hours on those games having fun with buddies! But, you know what happened? Bungie got money hungry. More and more, halo was milked. Halo: ODST! Omg, no online play? Great! Maps only available to people who own it? Fantastic! No shields? COOL. Reach: Core gameplay destroyed? AWESOME. Redical bloom? That will make people happy! Credits to unlock everything? People with lives will be happy with that. Reach FAILED and we all know it. And this is just the cherry on the crap-cake. Halo Anniversary! That Multiplayer you know and loved? GONE. All they do now is slap halo on a bad game and it sells millions. YOU SHOULD HAVE STOPPED AT 3. I FINISHED THE FIGHT.

I agree. Anniversary seems like a sellout. A true anniversary edition would have had the classic Halo:CE multiplayer. Not this Reach garbage multiplayer on Halo CE Maps that weren't made for that gameplay.

Mindblowing, really. Especially because Reach's gameplay sucks big time.

You don't sound like a halo fan to me... well, I think it was a really good game in it's own right, and I will be buying the anniversary.

That isn't true. The only portion of Anniversary that uses the reach engine are the new maps, which are for Reach's matchmaking. And you don't need to own Reach to play Anniversary.

I thought Halo: Reach was an excellent addition to the series and that Anniversary will revive a beloved classic. Though lacking CE's multiplayer, it will still have the campaign and that's good enough for me.

CE had the best multiplayer of all the Halo games and we never got a chance to see it online proper. It makes me sad to see H2 fanboys rant about their times online. If only they knew the glory that was CE.

Your mother was a sinner.

Of course I agree. I own an Xbox+Xbox 360. Yet ever since my sister got a Kinect, all I have is Halo 1.

It's on the reach engine, but they are largely tweaking the settings so it will not be the same feel as reach, and there will be dedicated playlists.

  • 08.12.2011 6:21 PM PDT

dude you need to research before you rage, there will be a specific playlist that can only be accessed from the Halo cea xbox live lobby.

thats what the TU is to make a classic feel of halo, to be put into reach.

  • 08.12.2011 7:56 PM PDT

i pressed yes because of reach odst was one of the best

Btw, if you want a more classic feel OP, play the new no bloom playlist.

Halo 2 for Life!

i agree reach sucks but i disagree with halo 3 being good. overall i agree.

  • 08.31.2011 2:56 AM PDT

You're retarded. Bungie aren't making Anniversary, and the title update will make it so the pistol is a 3 shot kill etc. in the multiplayer Reach engine. The campaign is the way you love, just with an extra graphics engine running on top which can be switched off. CALM DOWN.

You are a fool, you only need the reach disk for matchmaking, ODST did have multiplayer on a seperate disk using the halo 3 engine and bungie are not being a sell out because they are not making CEA remake

You dont need reach to play damnnit..
The menu is like this:

Campaign
Reach Multiplayer
Extras
Waypoint.

It only runs in the reach engine.
The maps will be released as DLC for the actual reach later on. Do your research...

This entire thread is fail >_<

People talking passionately, in a negative way, towards things they are completely ignorant towards...

Only the multiplayer is Reach, the Campaign is Halo: Combat Evolved's Engine with a special graphical engine laced on top of it created by Saber Interactive

You do not have to own Reach to play any part of Halo Anniversary.

343 Industries has taken over the Halo franchise and is leading this project, not Bungie.

343 Industries is making changes like making Bloom configurable and nerfing Armor Lock

if you were actually this passionate about the game, you would know these things. All your thread shows is that you get over-dramatic about things you don't even have a grain of knowledge about. Save the strongly opinionated thread making for people that actually care enough to learn their facts.

This, although I am very much looking forward to firefight.

Halo Waypoint Stats

1. Only the multiplayer uses the Halo: Reach engine.
2. You don't need Halo: Reach.
3. Halo: Reach is not garbage but a video game created by Bungie Studio's and managed by 343 Industries.
4. Yes the original Halo games are amazing just like the new ones.
5. Every company is money hungry. But Bungie Inc still cares.
6. Halo wasn't milked but expanded. Being milked is making games with no story a copy and pasted mp and overpriced map pack. Not pointing any fingers *cough* Call of Duty *cough*
7. Halo 3: ODST does have online. It's called firefight and co-op campaign.
8. All the maps are on the marketplace for those who didn't buy Halo 3: ODST.
9. Halo: Reach's core gameplay was not destroyed just changed. Adapt.
10. How can Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary be a bad game when 1. it's not out yet and 2. it's a better version of a game you "claim" to love.
11. You finished the fight. But a. it's not finished so you lie; and b. Halo Wars, Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach are before Halo 3 therefore the fight had not yet been "finished" even though it isn't over now.
