HALO 2 FOREVER - M.I.A.

Yes i have a Twitter and yes i voice my opinion.

He must have been the chief cause that was far more then BA. There is no term or words to say what he did.

From me (a soldier) to him. I will give him props BUT leave the shooting/gun pointing/arresting and other dangerous stuff to the pros and the games he makes.

I saw this on twitter a few days ago, that's impressive.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

There goes my plan of infiltrating Bungie HQ.

This event is a great example of many things I can't get into here; all I can say is that Bungie's commitment to hiring principled and hard-working people is associated with people who have taken precautions to ensure the safety of themselves and others. A great story to remember.

  • 08.12.2011 9:30 AM PDT

It isn't related to the website or the Bungie community. :/

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

Though this does bring up an interesting question.

Clearly this team member was legally licensed and trained to carry concealed.

It may be none of my business, but I am wondering what the studio policy is regarding legally licensed employees carrying on the premises.

I am curious because I myself am similarly licensed (have been for years) and each and every employer that I have worked for has had a strict "no weapons, no matter who" policy for their property and employees.

I can respect that Bungie may not wish to reveal their internal policies, so if the answer is "no comment", I can understand completely. But I am curious.

Well this didn't happen at Bungie Studios, it was at a bank.

He was an ex security guard, and the guy was coming towards him. He also said that unless you're trained and think you can handle the situation, you should call the cops.

If they are restricted it's probably due to the fact that you have an impenetrable wall guarding the front door (Jerome). So firearms aren't really a necessity in their office.

Or, they could be concerned about employee's practicing 'desk pops'.

I understand.

However, one of the main reasons that a person goes through the training, testing, qualification, background checks, licensure and other hoops in order to carry concealed is that it is impossible to predict when/where you may require that firearm. So, you usually have it on you whenever you can (within the limits of legal and other considerations).

I don't just say to myself, "I am going to the bank and there is an increased likelihood of needing this" as I holster a firearm. It's more akin to keeping a fire extinguisher and first aid kit in the trunk of your car. You don't know if you will ever need it, you hope and pray that you never will, but if you ever do, you are glad that it is there.

Especially knowing the guy had already shot at another person and was willing to use that kind of force to escape.

Real life's lack of shields, health packs, armor and automatic respawns is a sobering realization. I am glad that the situation was contained and resolved without any loss of life or additional injuries.
