...because Reach happened before Halo CE.

This way of thinking is wrong. Everything that was used in Halo CE was on the Pillar of Autumn when it left Reach, so it was available during the Reach time period. I know Bungie's aim was to make Reach different so I'm fine with this.

The only purpose of this thread is to clear this up for people that didn't realize this, because I've read too many posts from people that get it wrong.

You must have not picked up on my joke. I was making fun of all those silly arguments saying that Noble Team got refurbished Mark IV armors with shield generators because their armor (specially Six's) looks like the one in the cover of The Cole Protocol.

You'd think putting DURRRRR at the end would've made it obvious...

I agree completely. It would've been actually nice to see every weapon version make it into the game as a sign-off to the past Halo games. They could've easily done this by limited specific variants of rifles and such to specific levels. Silenced SMG's and Pistols when you encounter ODST's, and also on Nightfall, perhaps in drop-offs at certain points, etc.

It makes no difference that Noble Team was a party of the Army, and not the Navy/Marines in reference to the AR '60 clip. Special Forces soldiers such as Seal Teams have their choice of any weaponry they choose to select, and it would be no different to Spartan II's and Spartan III's.

That's when you know there's an absolute attention to detail in an FPS. But Bungie has never really been that thorough with detail/continuity between games anyways.

Looking to the future is better than watching the past

Actually SPARTAN III had Mark V (B) armor while the SPARTAN II had Mark V (A) armor.

ACtually noble six had spartan 3 armour which is not mark 5 or 6.

Again, no. Six's armor was the regular Mark V, the only (B) component was the helmet.
