how different do you guys think the human-covenant war would have turned out had the SPARTANs been outfitted with MK. VI armor straight from the get-go, as opposed to chief donning the only suit after destroying the first ring?

I doubt it would have made that much of a significant difference, really.

Imagine a triangle. It's perfect, but a little plain. You take a chisel, and carve a small decorative symbol into it to make it a little more interesting. People like it, but it could use a little more.

So you then take a sledgehammer..

Linda, Will and Fred also got MK. VI.

OT: I can't imagine it turning it out much differently to be honest. Perhaps a few Spartan deaths could've been avoided, but that's about it.

but it made them significantly stronger and faster, hence the difference between playing as chief and playing as Noble 6 (or even playing as chief in H:CE)

oh yeah i remember that it was on Reach...when Will said something along the lines of "i feel like i was born to wear this" or something like that.

Mk VI has no difference in multiplying strength and speed from the Mk V which did the same thing.

Any difference in actual strength, speed, etc stems from an individual Spartan's own base skills.

Mk VI armor wouldn't make a difference for the IIs if they're still wounded en route to the mission site then subsequently swarmed by a massive force of enemies all at once much like what already happens in Reach with the Mk V. The built in bio foam injector may give the Spartans some bit of combat strength back to the force, but not enough to turn the tides needed to change the outcome of the engagement.

My other car is a hummer...

What the hell is a puma?

At the very beginning of Halo 2 when Master Chief is given his new Mark VI and testing it, the armory guy said "As you can see, your shields recharge a lot faster." So I'm guessing the difference was an upgrade to the shields.

"The first improvement made to the system is a faster recharge time on the suits' energy shield system so that the SPARTAN-II super soldier does not have to remain in cover for an extended period of time. The second is improved synchronization between the suit and user, this allows the SPARTAN-II to jump higher, run faster, and hit harder than a Spartan could previously"

Negatory

Seeing as how all Spartan-IIs, except for the Chief, are trapped in the Micro-Dyson Sphere.....I think getting out is their first priority.

Kelly, Linda, Fred and John have Mark VI. Upgrades were made to nearly every aspect of the previous Mark V. Amogst the upgrades where the armor's shielding, biofoam injector, upgrades to stealth, radar thermal and motion-tracking systems.

"What do you hear?"
"Nothing but the rain."
"Then grab your gun and bring in the cat."
"Boom, boom, boom!"

Fix'd. Kelly never got the Mark VI, since she was abducted by Halsey.

the Mark VI Mjolnir battle armor was only significantly upgraded in shields and radar. it also allows and AI to control the suits energy outputs.this would make little difference because the spartans that i have seen the covenant kill would not have been saved by an upgraded shield. espiecially an energy sword to the spine (emile) getting pulled into a star (linda) it may have saved kat whose energy shields malfuctioned due to a sudden spike in radiation while her suit was not fully operational and she died from a shot to the head. but all in all it would have made little difference. remember its not a couple bullets that killed most of the spartans it was something that probably would have killed the cheif in their circumstances.

What the hell? Linda getting pulled into a star? Where did you read that? Besides, no, while the MJOLNIR Mark VI had stronger shields that regenerated faster, it was still not immune to weapons such as an Energy Sword, hell, that's condensed superheated plasma, if some plasma shots can break the shield (regardless of being stronger), imagine what a continuous contact will do.

Mk.VI Also had built in biofoam injectors which is why there was no need for health packs in Halo 2 and so on.
