What are the most skilled elites. I would of thought honor guards because wouldn't only the most skilled elites be worthy of protecting the hierarchs.

Zealots are meant to be heaps skilled, but than whats the point of the spec ops class

I vote for 'Spec Ops' cuz they get go on all the Special Operation missions so they must be skilled because failing a mission is not an option hence the name Spec Ops. If it wasn't for spec ops I'd go for Honor Guard then Field Marshal and so on.

In my opinion, Zealots, who should be on there, but I voted for Field Marshall instead. Then again, Zealot class is a general name given for the majority of high-ranking Elites.

Spec Ops aren't necessarily the most skilled, they just specialize in a certain area(s), or are called to perform do dangerous missions that would otherwise be deemed impossible by regular Elite infantry. They usually have active camo, so they're trained to be more stealthy.

Zealots are the most skilled overall in my opinion, because these Elites are the veterans of the Covenant army, they're smart, seen alot and conquered, and are very deadly with an energy sword.

I;d have to go with Spec-Ops, since they seemed to be the most powerful class in Headhunters.

Seeing as the Prophets pick the most skilled and trustworthy Elites in the whole Covenant to be Honour Guards, I'm going with them :)

The Spec-Ops team.

They, they just go through Hell. I cannot really see how that would not require the MOST skill?...

I would argue that in order to become a Field Marshal, General/Shipmaster or Honor Guard you have to have served as a Spec Ops at some point in your career. The Elite "classes" are entirely based on combat prowess.

It seems like once you prove yourself as a Spec Ops, if you have leadership ability you become a general/Ship master and then Field Marshal/Fleet Master if you still have potential.

Without leadership ability, but as a skilled warrior, you would become Honor Guard (even though that position technically no longer exists).

Therefore, I'm gonna say Field Marshal/Fleet Master

The Elites would still have Honor Guards, just because they wouldn't be guarding the Prophets anymore doesn't mean that they'd just get rid of the whole position. I'm sure Kaidons probably have their own elite (no pun intended) guards, the former Honor Guards of the Prophets would simply be absorbed into their ranks.

OT:
I believe things like "Zealot" and "Ultra" are classes, much like how we use the word aristocracy or nobles, there are multiple subsets to those like baron, duke, and others, I think Zealot is much the same. So Zealot would be the highest class an Elite could attain, and then I think possibly the highest position one could get as a Zealot, and thus would be comprised by the most skilled knowing how the Elites structure their culture, is the position of an Honor Guard. And then of course the best of the Honor Guards are the Lights of Sangheilios.

I don't think Field Marshal or General is a class, I think they're ranks that can be selected from any class.

I personally believe Generals are the most deadly of the Elite Ground forces. Because Elites are so physically powerful, more so than even a SPARTAN, would mean the General would be a deadly combination of both experience, skill, and brute strength.

Field Marshalls, and Zealots, they seem to be the most skillful Elites, the prophets just pick Honour Guards for their personal protection, that in itself doesn't reflect how skillful they are, even that posistion was realitively downgraded when the brutes took control.

Agreed, and I don't know about Honor Guards, Master Chief was able to run through about 10 of them.

To be a field marshall, one must have done well at the previous rank. I'm going with Field Marshalls.

Bungie's not going to make it so that he gets captured and killed half way through the series. They're not going to make theses games super hard that would just take out the fun

You've got a point, but if bungie intended them to be the most skilled class, then why did they make Halo 2 to where you fight and kill so many at once? Also, if Honor Guards are so skilled, then why aren't they on the battlefield? The only time I know of them actually defending a Hierarch is Halo 2 and they were whooped.

That can be applied to Zealots as well, like the group that 6 ploughs through at the end of The Pillar of Autumn. In canon there were probably far less Guardsmen there, as I can see no way in which MC could feasibly get through them when he cannot deal with Elites too easily when they are on their own. However, in the interest of keeping the game engaging there are more. There is also only so much that the AI can do. It cannot engage the player in sword duels or perform complex tactics.

Sangheili do not train to become Honour Guards, they are hand picked from the best of the best. It is possible that many Honour Guardsmen were Zealots in the past.

They are not used in the battlefield because that is not their purpose.

Yes, I did make that mess. What are you going to do about it?

I think your all wrong. My vote goes to the dead Elites, because they could have the knowledge of what they did wrong. For example- An Elite is looking over his "station", but hears something behind him, he thinks it is nothing and gets killed for it. He now knows that if he turned around he wouldn't have died that soon. My case and point. :P

I want to say Imperial Admiral or Supreme Commander, but I'm not sure if tactical brilliance counts as the type of skill everyone is talking about.
