I really think that indie game studios deserve a lot more donated support than big AAA-game companies, who already have sponsored money; in Bungie's case that's Activision.

What are you getting at here. ;)
My good sir, whatever do you mean? Clearly I am simply pointing out a large section of the games industry which needs to be caressed and cared for by the gamers at large. I talk specifically about small teams who work their asses off daily with little to no income for the sake of making sweet games for people to enjoy.

(Just because I founded such a company, doesn't mean my opinion isn't valid ;))

Donate the money to the Bungie Foundation. There is a complex algorithmic mathematical off-the-heezy equation that will cause the money to go straight to Bungie.net if you donate to the Bungie Foundation.

Edit: The Webteam will most likely appreciate a donation to the Bungie foundation over anything else. Mailing a cheque will be pretty useless dude, use the money to help others. I'm sure that's the exact same response you would get from the webteam.

I know Bungie has alot of money but that still doesn't change that I'd like to donate to B.net. I have some money in my paypal I can send.

This website alone is worth roughly a million dollars. Source. (I have no idea if that's accurate or not)

I doubt that you have enough money in your paypal account to really make a difference in maintaining this website - In the hypothetical situation that they needed it.

Your money is better off going somewhere where it's needed. Bungie clearly doesn't need the money, and so you should donate it to charity.

Bye.

Instead of donating to bungie, you could instead donate to Childsplay. Bungie have good relationship with Childsplay. I'm sure they wouldn't mind.

Buy stuff in the store -> profits go towards Bungie Foundation -> Ipads for kids.

Or as other people said, just donate it straight to charity. Much better use of spare money than to donate it towards an already funded website.

You could try and convince them to let you invest in some of their private stock. Hell, you could be on the Board of Directors.

/sarcasm

Yeah, I'd invest it in your future, or at least charity. You could help Bungie and charity and yourself by buying some of their stuff.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Donate to the Bungie Foundation as other have said. Pretty sure they'd prefer that. Or buy something from the store and the profits go to Bungie Foundation and you can get some cool st00fs.

Actually, I find that I'm more invincible without pants, which is why I am not wearing any at the moment.

Im sure Bungie doesn't need donations, they're probably doing pretty well for themselves.

Like everyone was saying though, buy from the store, help some sick kids instead.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Buying Halo 2 was my donataion. The other games were good.

If you send them the money its almost definitely going to the Bungie foundation.

God forbid you send me one of those I was checking for cool gamers and saw you messages too, I will scream to the top of my lungs and smash this damn screen/BlackBerry to pieces! You've been warned -_-

Im positive that actively being a member is plenty of a donation that they can ask for.

Obviously I can't speak for Bungie, but as others have said already, I'm sure Bungie doesn't need donations from fans. The fact that they've set up Bungie Foundation would seem to imply that they're financially secure and would rather give donations than take them. If you're still desparate to donate, perhaps you could donate directly to the Bungie Foundation.

Cheap skate ;D

In all seriousness, the Bungie Foundation would be a better place to donate anything to. That, or like other people have said, charities they endorse.

  • 08.13.2011 4:34 PM PDT

I decided to go to the childs play site and guess what.... bungie isn't a gold/platinum sponsor, but 343 is. That doesn't make any sense to me.

343i are a division of Microsoft? So I'd assume since Microsoft are up there, 343i would be too. It may also be due to the fact that the Halo series itself has been such a driving force for raising money for Childsplay, that when the mantle of "Halo" was transferred to 343, they were put up there.
That's just my guess. It's still a worthy cause to help though.

As far as monetary donations go, I don't believe Bungie needs it. I cant speak for them, but I assume they'd rather you give your money to one of the charities they endorse. (Fight Like a Girl, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Child's Play, etc)

I was wondering, is their a way to donate directly through the Bungie Foundation without buying Bungie Swag? If not then I can just as easily donate directly to Child's Play.

Edit: I don't they need the money for B.net, but I don't know really. Nice enough idea though.

I do,heck I've bought alot of action figures,a bag, some accessories,4 books and a couple t-shirts. I want to give money directly to the web team to help with this site's operations.
I've already made out a money order and put it in the mail box.I'm also preparing a care package for Bungie devs while they work on their new game.

I think your "donation" is your constant support and purchase of Bungie's games.
