I know that regular sigs ("-hoobla-") at the end of every post is okay, but am I allowed to post a linked sig?

Not to advertise or anything, but perhaps a cool lettering of my username, along with perhaps a "wise saying" that switches every day? Example. Just want to make sure this is okay to be done by Ninjas before I do it.

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

Probably. Just as long as you're not advertising through the link.

That's along the lines of what I was thinking, but I just wanted to make sure.

I don't think it's against the rules, but signatures tend to be annoying and looked down upon.

Thats walking the line, dudemeister.

It could very EASILY be considered spam, on every post you make. I mean, unless its just a link to the ORLY? pic or something of that nature

You would take a risk every time you hit "Submit".

Which is why I'm searching for a Ninja Approval before I do anything.

I've never really seen it done on the site, but I'd imagine some Moderators might not be too lenient about it.

For example, as Moderators, they'll need to check links frequently to make sure that you're definitely not linking to bad content. Or, alternatively, if you start doing it and people see that it's allowed/okay, then others may see it as a way of sneakily posting things that plug their content, etc.

I'd be hesitant about it, if I were you, but there couldn't be any real harm. My suggestion is to just not bother with it; Bungie.net already has a signature system set up and whilst ending your post with a mini-signature is fine, I think if you tried to expand it, it just wouldn't be responded to that nicely.

We're the Flintstones kids, ten million strong and growing...

Glass Galaxies - a theme for bungie.net

Per audacia ad astra. Halo Reach | Destiny

Couldn't you just link it in your actual signature? You know, the area dedicated to that kind of stuff?

The area that you've already put a link in. The one that pops down when you click the [more v] arrow on everyone's posts. The one you can edit by going here.

To be honest, the approval of one ninja means absolutely nothing.

Ninjas all have different interpretations of the rules and if you message Yoozel and he says "Yup, do it.", you could easily then be banned by bobcast or foman because THEY don't like it.

Alright, I'll put it in my sig area thing then.

*EDIT- added it :)

We actually don't give approvals for this reason.

A lot of times there have been people who have messaged us asking if something was OK, one of us would say yes, and then have our names pop up at the top of the thread as if we had actually approved it instead of just saying that it was fine by the rules.

Due to the fact that the rest of the ninjas are all jerks!

If only the Recon Cloning Project hadn't gotten its funding yoinked.

Why do you want it anyway? Why sign off at the end of every post? It just wastes space. Everyone can see who posted it because it shows us your username. You can put whatever you like in your actual forum signature, it's just that people have to click the drop down to view it.

When you really think about it, if someone is not planning on using all 10,000 characters, adding a signature is not really a waste of space.

It's still useless. And stupid.
