United Armed Forces

Tyranids or Flood. Tyranids because of awesome, Flood because they can infect living things, and fling themselves into space and survive.

Necromorphs, especially if they had every type

The flood would infect the necromorphs, not to mention that the necromorphs are more like beasts where the flood is intelligent because of the gravemind and consuming the knowledge of all they infect.

Xenomorphs are by far the coolest, but locked in one shape they would be at a severe disadvantage.

Zerg are constantly evolving in form and would put up quiet the fight and a fight between zerg and flood would probably last a long time and be entierly about controlling the larger amount of biomass. I believe the flood would win this, even if it would be hard because of the greater controlling mind and flood being better at taking punishment as even a pile of flesh can be turned into something great where they are concerned.

Tyranids I do not know much about soo they are the one ''race'' I'm unsure if the flood could beat.

Plainly I can see that everyone in this thread is insane.

Once you put Tyranids up there it was game over for all other races. Everything in warhammer 40k is on steroids.
IF space marines are spartans times ten than thyranids are flood on crack.

There species is like the zerg and they are trying to reach genetic perfection. At the rate they can do it is insane. They outnumber every other race. Not only that they could assumulate the flood and zerg becoming more efficient.
They bastards eat planets whole. They outnumber their foe 100 to 1 in most engagements. Even the mighty space marines fight for their lives against them. If thyranids come to a planet its as good as done.

Flood could infect the other ones... But what if a Necromorph infects a flood?

If it was just these 5 races, the Flood could not win.

None of the other races have sufficient biomass to sustain them, or be useful for combat. I think the Zerg would win considering their acidic nature (and the fact they have aerial units), whereas everything else is pretty much melee/infection.

Flood's and Universe's Warhammer 40k fanatic and the one who knows much about it.

I also like House Stark and winter, hurr.

No other race has this big monsters on their side, if I'm correct.

When it comes to those viruses and such that other races such as Necromorphs and Zerg have, Tyranids could develop resistance againt such in few days, maybe even in less time.

Also, I could see flood having problems in infecting and killing biotitans.

This is how much they can cover space with their hivefleets.

Also, in space warfare there are absolutely zero changes for other races, since they don't have ships large as hundreds of kilometers. Also, the amount of smaller ships in tyranid fleets could propably even outnumber the groundforces of other races.

Their nature doesn't work at the point when they're outnumbered by thousands to one. Also, their numbers are quite low when compared to flood and Tyranids.

Char has about 10,000,000,000+ zerg. Such numbers are easily found among other races.

Flood defintly...
As to the one who said the infections time are terrifing...flood ...can infect a whole planet in just one day...That is seen when they where released in halo ce...and they where in feral stage (first stage) and without gravemind.

And to the other guy who siad that the other creatures have 100 km ships....
But flood has trillions of ships that are huge...(during forerunner flood war).

Flood is extra galactic so it means it would be impossible to defeat it....as you would need to travel over the whole space...and as we know....space is unlimited...and the flood can be anywhere...
We know that the most advanced creatures fell to the flood...
and plus flood can adapt the technoligy of its victim...
Enuff said flood wins hand down.

Please, give me the source of Flood's ships size that reaches over 100 kilometers or something close to it. I can give mine.

Tyranids are also extragalactic, and what Flood seems to unable to do, is to cover lightyears of space with their fleets. Tyranids are able to do so with their fleets. The fleets seen in that map are most likely just the tendrils of the whole tyranid group, and the main body hasn't even come to the Milky way.

So on, I doubt that Flood has fleets as large as Tyranids have and such large amount of ships.

Another question that I'd like to ask, is that how efficient are those flood ships in space warfare?

I never said that flood ships reach over 100km...there was a post where someone said that some creatures ships reach hundreds of kilometers ....

I dont understand this

Why cant the flood travel lightyears of space with their fleet ?
Flood can travel millions of lightyears with their fleet...what made you say that ?

And as i said before....flood learns from its victims...so a few Tyranids infected would make the flood know everything about tyranids tech and they would be able to use tyranids weapons, ships, etc.

As i just said...flood can travel extremely large distances togther... so they DO have as large amounts as Tyranids have.

As i said before ...flood learns from its victoms....so all the ships that actually exsist could be floods ships....including Tyranids...so flood is as god....it could know anything from anyone ....

Edit: sry i might have some english grammer....and other problems...i just tryed to type fast.

  • 08.14.2011 2:27 AM PDT

Easily the tyranids

currently in the 40k universe there is enough of them to completely engulf the galaxy and trillions upon trillions more yet to enter the galaxy. They assimilate all biomass on a planet and turn it into more tyranids. You can never stop the tyranids.

tyranids are extragalactic and have consumed numerous other GALAXIES before coming to the milky way. They can strip a planet down to NO BIOMASS AT ALL ie plain rock in a few days and the force of their attack can strip a planet of its atmosphere.

The forerunners fell to the flood because they were unprepared because of politics, and the prehistoric humans beat the flood. Currently, no meaningful victory has been won against the tyranids.

  • 08.14.2011 3:31 AM PDT

The flood doesn't learn from it's victims like the tyranids do. Give it a few days and the tyranids will already have evolved to be immune to infection.

And I'd like to see a flood spore overcome the psychic power of the Hive Mind.

This makes me think that you have never played halo...
And I'm just curious ....why are you saying things that you actually dont know ?

In this case Forerunner-War era Flood should most likely win.
The only other contender being the Tyranids through sheer weight of numbers, but the IOM can deal with them, and Forerunner ships (of which the Flood had quite a few) are markedly superior to IOM ships. Ditto for their ground equipment.

Are there any native populations in this 'battleground' for the parasitic species to feed off of to replenish their numbers?

You clearly don't know anything about the tyranids. The flood can't learn how to use the tyranids guns, because the tyranid IS the gun. Tyranid guns are actually smaller tyranids, as are the bullets. The tyranids can evolve much faster than the flood can learn about whatever it could possibly learn.

Also, the tyranids don't build ships, they don't have 'tech'. Once again, a Tyranid IS the ship. That is why Tyranid ships can literally east other ships. They are massive animals.

I have been playing Halo from the start. Why are you attempting to speak English, when you clearly have a problem doing it?

The Flood cannot beat the tyranids. The Hive Mind is infinitely more powerful than the Gravemind. The Tyranids can evolve in a matter of hours to combat the infection. The flood cannot possible infect every tyranid entity. The tyranids harvest every single speck of biomass to make more tyranids, leaving the planet attacked as bare rock. The tyranids re harvest their own dead back into more tyranids, so the Flood would not be able to infect many tyranid forms, and even if they didm there is far too many tyranids of different types to deal with. I would love to see a couple of combat forms try to take town a Hive tyrant, or a Biotitan.

If there were native populations, the tyranids would have already consumed them and all of the planet's biomass to make, yup, you guessed it, more tyranids.
