Getting back to my original post, If the grphics are greatly improved I would like to see them dumbed down to a level that most PC's can handle the problem with BF2 is that its so advanced I cant FREAKING PLAY IT! So the ability to have super duper extremly low on the detail levels would be nice. (and I wouldnt mind seeing a key to lay down (prone) for shooting).

Got em. Speaking on behalf of Halomapscouk, if you could answer as many of these questions as you are able to, we would all appreciate it greatly...

There are a few that I can answer now but for the rest I'm going to defer to "no comment". I'd rather leave expectations where they are now (and I know we haven't released a lot of public info) than come across overly optimistic/pessimistic on something. When the time is right more info will get released :)

Are the graphics going to be massively improved over the Xbox version?
Are there going to be any major improvements/new parts to the engine
Are there going to be any additions to the weapons/vehicles currently in H2Xbox?

Do they have a level editor right now or is that still to come?
Not sure what you mean - there was an editor for Halo 2 Xbox that the internal designers could use, so yes we have something now. Is it as user friendly as we'd like it to be or ready for external use? Not right now.

Has bungie considered a way to reduce lag on its games?
Yes. There is some stuff we can look at in this area but some of it also comes down to the users Internet connection / routing to the other players.

What kind of server control options will server operators have?
For dedicated servers or listen servers? We're looking at what other games have done in the area (as well as H1) to see what makes sense to support. The dedicated server control options may be a bit more extensive since we'll want to support remote commands whereas it's not as important if you're actually sitting at your PC.

Can you tell us anything about the release date for H2PC?
If the beta is already out, will H2PC be released right after Visita is released? Will it, in other words, be a "launch title" for Windows Visita?

Is bungie planning to provide real content/balance fixes in patches?
There are a lot of things we'll need to look at just in bringing the game over to the PC so this is possible.

Multiplayer experience in general been improved since H2Xbx?
"Improved" can mean different things to different people. What in particular did you find lacking in the MP experience on Xbox? There are a few things we're looking to implement that PC gamers generally expect and I imagine those would be considered improvements.

Will there be anything in the PC version that was cut out from the Xbox version due to the notorious time constraints on H2Xbx?

Thanks for your time! Even a single answer would be appreciated.
You're welcome. I'm sorry I couldn't answer more but we're being pretty tight with info for now.

No need to be sorry! As a long time member of the Maw, I'm finally glad someone's here helping us out, and assuaging our fears for Halo 2 PC.

Man, you're lucky, being a beta tester must be awesome. I can imagine it must get tedious playing the same builds over and over, and over again to find every single imaginable fault....well...maybe not so lucky ;)

I hope that as the release date approaches you'll be able to reveal more and more info about the game.

jman571: anyone up for a game> (hmmm.....my 'question mark' key on keyboard stopped working...)

Thanks for the answers, Dommer. If you wouldn't mind picking up a few loose ends as well as answering a few more questions, I'd appreciate it on behalf of HMC...

You mentioned that H2PC in development currently has a level editor for the game programmers and designers, but that it was not ready for external use. Excuse my incoherency from before, but what most of us modders and map designers want to know is, will there be an app that we can use to create our own custom maps and levels, as in the way of HCE (Halo: Custom Edition). Does unfit for "external use" imply that this map designer is not entirely ready for use by the average modder?

You also mentioned that you were looking into other games for ideas on how to improve host control and dedicated server operations. Can you name any games in particular (such as CounterStrike, etc.) that have interesting ideas you might be considering for H2PC?

When I mentioned an "improved" multiplayer experience, I'm afraid I didn't quite elaborate as much as I could have. Will TKers and betrayers, for example, be countered in any way? Will patches be released to counter against online problems like aimbots and hackers? Will impersonation be dealt with (as in, if two people with the same name sign onto a game, will one name be changed)?

To continue your previous statement about improving upon the Xbox version, one major gripe (as well as a praise for some) about H2Xbx was the notorious Matchmaker system. Will H2PC implement a matchmaking system among its users? More importantly, will H2PC players be paying for online gaming? Also, will individual player and clan statistics be officially kept as in Xbox's current method (will players receive clan tags)?

Will H2PC take full advantage of all DX10 technology has to offer?

Has Microsoft stopped working with NVidia on improving DX10 technology?

Again, thanks for your time in answering these questions...
