Subject: Halo 4 maybe Onyx?

This trend is for people that have read the book. In the Halo 4 E3 trailer you see John floating towards a huge planet looking ship thing/possibly Onyx? It would be cool if it was Onyx and he met up with the reaming Spartans and Dr Halsey. What do you guys think?

The onyx shield world is in a slipspace bubble or something. The LP is likely more like the Halo Wars shield world since it's in normal space.

While that would make for a good game it would break canon.

  • 08.13.2011 9:06 PM PDT

a great idea. and i sense a new franchise is afoot. hopefully it will benifit everything halo has to offer. the fans will love it, and i will be waiting for it's first hand debue in stores. :D.

How would it break Canon?

Frankie confirms that the Legendary Planet is NOT Onyx (08:00). Had you even read Ghosts of Onyx, you'd know that the planet itself was destroyed and the whole thing split apart into trillions of Sentinels. All that's left of Onyx is the Micro Dyson Sphere, roughly 3 meters in diameter in normal space.

What we saw at the end of Halo 3 and in the Halo 4 trailer was much larger than that...

Remember what happened to Alderaan in A New Hope? Yeah...that happened to Onyx.

Yes it split into trillions of sentinels but is it so bizzare to imagine them forming into a huge ship? That huge ship looking planet thing kinda looked like a huge forerunner space ship.

Canon is usually always broken anyways

the only problem i have with mine is that it's unstable,[very shakey],so you'd need a tripod for it.

Sorry, it being Onyx would be a terrible idea. Not only is the planet way too big, but it serves no purpose for Chief's story.

...

That would be easily answered by a search engine called: Google.

And it is not Onyx as Frankie confirmed that is not Onyx. Have you read Ghosts of Onyx... It was destroyed and that MDS is in slip space bubble that is no more than few meters in diameter.

Please seriously, lrn2togoogle.

It might be onyx because onyx was the last human refrugee. Wasnt it?

You gotta be dumb to think like that... I'm surprised at sheer stupidity at forums here... I should expected this.

Let me explain it for you:

Onyx IS NOT LAST HUMAN REFUGEE colony. THERE IS HALF or more DOZENs of colonies survived after the war.

Seriously, I want to tell you one thing to get through your head: LRN2TOGOOGLE, derp.

Finish the Fight!

It would actually be kind of funny if it ended up being the Elites home world and the Arbiter finds Masterchief when he gets there. :P

Add to that: Glasslands reportetly has Hasley and the rest being found by a new cast of characters. And that book takes place pre-H4 (most likely), so there would be nothing there to find for Chief.

Ooh, I was quoted without even having to post in this thread? I feel special. :P

But yes, the point stands that there is no evidence whatsoever to even suggest the planet even could be Onyx.
