Hold it right there.

Hello. Name's Brian. Look, if you're looking for a flame war with me, just open up the Flood and write up some not-nice things about religion and I'll bring my nukes to the party.

If you want some other way to contact me, you can forget it.

If you're interested in some of my work, you can check my homepage out.

Can't mods just relocate them to their proper place instead of locking them?

Or well... Shouldn't they be given the ability to do so?

I was a finalist :P

I thought it was only Master Forum Ninjas who could perform this command?

We aren't here to ruin your experience (Well Qbix is).

Sure, but it would be too much of a hassle. The OP would then be asking the mod "where did mi thread go? Was it deleted?" etc.

I'm somewhat a 50/50 on this :/

Edit: They should get an automated message saying their thread has been re-located. :)

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

All the mods can move threads.

They probably don't do it because moving threads really -blam!-s it up. Posts tend to get torn apart as if it went through a tornado!

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

I'm not here to put your clothes and toys away. If people don't know where their things belong and leave them anywhere, then that is why they can't have nice things.

In other words, I am not your mom. And she agrees with me so don't try asking her to see if she'll help you out!

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

This, the moving threads ability has been bugged lately. Plus I would assume it's a hassle anyway, it's probably easier for the OP to just leave that thread and make a new one in the correct forum.

[edit] And Recon comes and makes another metaphor. :| [/edit]

But moving threads also keeps the posts in it as well. People who do post 'Wrong forum Post here would be most likely trolled to where the forum gets moved to.

 • 08.13.2011 11:02 PM PDT

Well, how about this

The original poster and the Master forum ninja can move it to another forum and Master forum ninjas can just say "Put this in the _____ forum", so this solves Recon Number 54's problem along with other people who post in wrong forums.

They can do that but that doesnt teach the person a lesson. you shouldn't be able to put your topic wherever you want knowing a mod will just repost it. You get locked because you broke the rules and it shows you not to do it again.

Is it that hard to get it right in the first place? I always think that people putting stuff in the wrong forum are just plain lazy.

Yeah, I know what your feeling. There's always so many threads going on about halo 3 or why they got banned on Reach. Some will just never learn that Bungie has no control of Halo.

Hello, I'm Mr AwesomePizza. I like pizza and I'm a man. Reasoning for the name. I like to listen to the classics of music, write poetry, play video games, and much much more. I'm always down for a nice chat, so please hit me up for some conversation.

It's faster and easier just to lock it. Also it helps the person learn that they were posting in the wrong area.

But locked topics take up space which could be used for other threads. Sometimes there are several locked topics on the first page, which prevents several more relevant topics being seen and posted in.

Your point is duly noted and yet highly irrelevant. The fact of the matter is if they are simply moved, all of the following happen.

1. The OP learns no lesson.

2. The OP gets the idea that they can post wherever they want and simply have their post moved, which is unfair to Bungie Employees and Ninjas alike.

3. The Ninjas now have to clean up after an idiot who was too lazy to read the Forum Rules upon entering the Bungie.net forums.

4. The rules pertaining to the location of which a thread should be posted are thrown out the window and made null and void.

Your idea is flawed and so is your logic.

That's a bit harsh. It's reasonably relevant.

1. The OP can still be messaged/warned/banned (possibly an automatic message). This will teach them what they did wrong.

2. Same as above - bans/warnings if they repeatedly make the same mistake.

3. Ninjas will still have to lock it anyway, and possibly message the user as to where they should post the topic. I wouldn't have thought moving it would take significantly more effort.

4. The rules would still apply, and would be enforced.

It wasn't my idea to move the threads, although it is not a terrible idea. All I was saying, is that it is annoying that the forum can be filled with locked topics, and that moving threads could prevent this, clearing space for more relevant topics.

I'm sorry. You're right, I was harsh and your point was relevant. But still, what's the point of moving the post of a user you just banned as it will remove the OP anyway?

Also, using the opinion of Recon who posted earlier (a master forum ninja), ninja's dont appreciate being used as maids even if they get to yell at us afterwards. They're job is to punish people who have broken the rules and moderate the forum.

Why help one who has broken the rules by relocating they're post? And the only place locked topics fill up a forum are in the least visited ones. The Reach forum never has more than 1 or 2 locked topics on the front page unless the floodians decide to "attack" it.

 • 08.14.2011 1:16 PM PDT

It's not camping, it's holding the designated location.

There are just to many misplaced threads to relocate them all since they collapsed the Halo forums.
