This may sound like a dumb question, but I'm at a loss.
So after not playing halo for about 2 years, this week I have decided to come back a relive the fun a little bit. I knew beforehand that I needed the map packs to play MLG and Snipers, my fav playlists.

So, I purchase microsoft points and spend them on both Mythic map packs, all the while having every other map pack that have come out before.

Now, I get all excited to jump into these playlists again, but I get there and it stills tells me I do not have the maps required to play, even though I had just bought and downloaded them.

So, whats the damn problem?

I always had to go to custom games and open up the list of maps and wait. After about 15 seconds it would load the maps I bought and then I would be allowed to play multiplayer. This may not be your problem, but I'd suggest trying it.

Go into the Forge lobby and go to the pick a map screen. See what maps aren't there. In addition to the 4 mappacks, you also should download the free (separate) map 'Cold Storage' to give yourself 'All DLC.'

The Halo: 3 Mythic disk comes with ALL DLC on the disk. So if you were using that before (personally I'd have recommended you bought that instead of the two mappacks considering they're just about the same price), then you wouldn't have the other DLC on your harddrive since they were on that disk instead. Lots of people forget to put in that disk instead of Halo 3's.

Third possibility that comes to mind is you being over the custom item limit. DLC maps count towards a limit of custom content you can have (100 maps, films, and gametypes), which sucks. So 13 of your 100 slots are for DLC maps (another reason the Halo 3: Mythic disk is better). If downloading the DLC put you over the limit, the DLC won't appear. You will need to delete one Forged Map/Gametype/Film from your harddrive for each map to be sure that isn't the problem.

The final possibility is that you used another Xbox at some point. If you ever downloaded any of the maps on a different Xbox and paid for these new ones on this Xbox, you might not have ever transferred the license from the previous DLC content to the new Xbox, which might be preventing their use. I would then recommend googling 'Xbox 360 License Transfer Tool.' Log into the account that originally purchased those older maps that were on the older Xbox (NOTE: NOT the account you use now- it has to be the one you actually spent the MS points with). Follow the steps and the licenses should transfer, thus allowing you to use all the maps.

Well... I think I hit every possibility so... find out which one based on your situation!

Hmmmm... Ill give those forge ideas a try.

Also, I have never used another Xbox, so that possibility is ruled out.

And that DLC limit possibility... I'd have to try that too. So, I'd have to delete 6 custom content?

I didn't think of getting ODST before I downloaded the maps, instead i thought of it immediately afterwards :( I would have definitely purchased that.
