I'm trying to become an '04, but it's not working too well."

1. Do you use Autoreply [to all messages, or clicking the literal 'autoreply' button]
2. Do you ever find yourself actually clicking the autoreply button instead of replying to a PM?
3. Are you ever annoyed when receiving an autoreply?
4. Is your Autoreply Short, Sweet and To The Point? Or is it Long, Drawn Out, and a Waste of the original PMers time?
5. To build on question number 4, is your Autoreply Nice? respectable? Or is it Rude, in the sense that you're telling 'group recruiters and spammers' to go do naughty things to themselves?

I don't use one. They're usually pretty obnoxiously worded.

Mine is set to auto, it sends this...

Three guys are walking through a jungle when they are caught and taken prisoner by a savage tribe. The tribe chief says to the first man, "I will give you two choices. Death, or bungie."
The man, not knowing what 'bungie' was, decided to choose that, because anything could be better than death. So the tribe proceeded to sodomize him repeatedly, for over an hour until he could barely walk. He stumbled away in tears as the other two men watched in horror.
The chief asks the second man, "Death, or bungie?" The man was horrified by what he had seen, but still would rather not die. He chose bungie, and the tribe proceeded to sodomize him even more viciously than the first man, for hours and hours, leaving him permanently crippled. He dragged himself away, sobbing.
The chief asked the last man, "Death or bungie?" The man decided that anything could be better than this 'bungie', even death. "I choose death!" the man exclaimed, bravely. The chief smiled. "Very well. Death.. by bungie!"

The only people who can justify an auto reply are bungie members who are legitimately too busy to reply...

  • 08.14.2011 4:25 PM PDT

1. Never.
2. Nope.
3. Depends on who I'm PMing.
4 and 5 are irrelevant because I don't use autoreply.

I don't get enough PMs to have to have an autoreply message.

No, I don't get nearly enough messages for an autoreply. Typically when I get one it's something along the lines of "i dun wunt grope invite" to which I think, wtf this wasn't a group invite.

This sums up mine.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

I don't send autoreplies, they're just not necessary. I usually just ignore group invites.

Also, yes it does annoy me to receive them. I don't like when people set theirs to actual AutoReply.

My autoreply is automatic. It's short and sweet, and is suitable for 99.99% of all PM's I received here in recent months.

Bye.

The majority of users on this site have no real use for the Auto-Reply. I think the only time I ever got an Auto-Reply was from a user I messaged who was away on holiday. Hs reply pretty much stated that fact, and that he would get back to me as soon as possible. It's a nice feature to have nonetheless.

1. When I'm away.
2. Nope.
3. Yep.
4. Short.
5. Nice, since the only time I ever use it is when I'll be away from Bnet for days or weeks at a time.

  • 08.14.2011 4:37 PM PDT

I spend too much time here.. too much time indeed.

I tweet?

Mine is set on automatic and merely sends a link to a certain undesirable website.

Honestly I have an auto response set to manual and directed towards the group invites, though I usually just ignore invites. The message is pleasantly sarcastic.

  • 08.14.2011 4:39 PM PDT

1) Only when I'm away from B.net on a trip / vacation.
2) Only to make the number of messages indicator in the upper right go down to zero. Sometimes I actually read
3) Only when I think I've recieved messages from two people only to find out that it's one only one person.
4) As I only ever use it for vacations, I usually just say that I'm gone and when I'll be getting back.
5) Straight to the point.

Oh hey there

It's a metaphor for the 07s' lack of identity. too old to be newfag, yet too new to be oldfag, we wander b.net in search of a home, forever trying to be something we are not.

My auto reply used to be the link in my sig. But I stopped using it.

  • 08.14.2011 4:55 PM PDT

I get a message every couple of months because I'm lonely. So I guess I never saw the reason for me to have an auto-reply. A good idea if you're someone who get's a ton of messages every day (i.e. webteam, ninjas, notable persons in general).

  • 08.14.2011 4:55 PM PDT

AutoReplying doesn't annoy me. I don't use it either.

  • 08.14.2011 4:57 PM PDT

I use auto-reply as a response to spam messages like copy-and-paste group invites or off-site invites. It's basically "sorry, I don't want to join your group, or accept your invite, etc."

The only time I used autoreply was during the time of Halo 3 in response to pm's about how I got recon.

Don't use autoreply, do not really care when someone sends it really
