Is it just me, or does the Rocket Launcher from the old Mraton games look kinda like a concept art for the Rocket Launcher on HALO..?

'Tis teh tru7h!

"The name, the doube barrels, the legend!"

Yes, the Halo and Marathon Rocket launcher look a lot alike. Especially the Marathon 2 and Infinity rocket launcher (except the Marathon rocket launcher is left handed...and the Watcher of Myth: TFL has two left hands...coincidence, I think not!!!) There are many and various connections between almost all Bungie games, but they are especially prevalent in Marathon and Halo. Check the links in my sig if you are looking for more links between Marathon and Halo.

We can Dream... btw, who are you Sardonic? You're very pro-marathon but I haven't spotted you before...

Gaara of Sand, I answered your question with a post in the Septagon. Here is a link to it.

Sardonic

Omikias, you have noticed the resemblance of the Marathon and Halo rocket launchers. May I assume that you know that the Marathon Symbol is strewn throughout halo also? Or does that give you something else to look for?

Hmm. Now that you mention it, I did notic it a few times. Like on the Pillar of Autum and a few times on the Truth and Reconsiliation... I'll have to count how many times in the game it appears now. And BTW Sardonic, *Sweatdrop* tell ya the truth, I haven't played them... My step bro has them and I used to watch him play... If you could POSSIBLY burn me a copy or something like that, it'd so kick-a.

Well, see, that is where you are in luck. In this very forum (check the stickies at the top) is a post concerning Marathon and how to play it on your computer for free. Check it out. You can download a few files that will let you play the full version of the original Marathon (via AlephOne) and, if you have bittorrent or know someone who has a copy of Marathon 2, you can also play Marathon 2.

By the way, welcome to the Bungie.net forums.

I always thought the plasma pistol from Halo was kinda like the fusion pistol in Marathon, too. Except its green and fires faster.

It's the SPNKR no matter what game you play, double barrel, double the fun.

Tru7h be told many a time my friend.

Halo would be no more than angel's jewlery without Marathon.

There's a thread about this with 250+ posts around here somewhere...

Ah, here it is

I know that's a lot to read, but you might find it interesting. We went
over almost everything we could think of, but there are still many
more questions to be found and answered.
http://marathon.bungie.org/story This site is very helpful for linking the
games.

Oh, and I was curious. Has anyone else noticed some similarties
between the Pfhor ships and the Covenant ships? Both ships have
a lot of purple, and there was a screen on b.net somewhere.
HERE
Thought the last two screens were interesting. Plus, the article comes
straight from Matt Soell. Back on track: The green goo is suspicious
as well. The coolant in the Covenant ships is a bluish green, but I
still think it's similar. My point is the design of the Pfhor and Covie
ships is similar in some ways, and may lend more the the
Forerunner=Jjaro idea. If the games are directly linked anyway.
*Probably should have put this in the above linked thread =/

Keep exploring the links Omikias, because from that article I think
it's obvious that Bungie wants us to explore these connections.

Thanks everyone, and this isn't the last you'll hear of my findings. If I had the time, money, and sanity, I'd fly out to Bungie's HQ and ask them myself. Any donations would be thanked and paid off in a few years...
