I always knew that H2V was bad, but I had no idea how bad it actually was until I installed Half-Life 2. I mean the difference is even more than night and day. After seeing what a proper PC game can really be like, I hope that Bungie still has it in them to make an awesome game that will fully measure up to the standards we hold. Especially since the new universe that they are creating seems like it will have some MMO-like components to it (to be fair some of that is speculation). They did it before Halo, and hopefully they still have the capacity to do it now. If their next game is not on the PC, I'm gonna be seriously ticked. I know that there is a good chance that it will be on PC, but there is still a degree of uncertainty, since it's been 10 years since Bungie released a game for PC/Mac. Their universes are too awesome for PC gamers to get jipped again. I'm sick of Valve being the only developer that seriously cares about the PC market, even if they do seem to have it cornered.

I'll remain cautiously optimistic, for now. But I'm going to be seriously disappointed if they remain console only.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

It seems a little unfair comparing probably the worst FPS game in existence to what is arguably the best single-player FPS experience to date. But now that you have that standard, keep it, and always remember what a good game is.

Valve definitely isn't the only good PC game developer right now, though. DICE is doing great things, even going so far as to make the PC the lead platform (devs that primarily focus on PC gaming are few and far between) for Battlefield 3, which looks nothing short of spectacular. And ArenaNet, though they've only done one actual game so far, is always looking out for their fans, hence why they refuse to release Guild Wars 2 or even put a release date on it until they're 100% certain that we're going to fall head-over-heels for the game.

There are still good developers left, devs that look to the fans before their wallets. Sadly, it seems Bungie isn't one of them, nor is Microsoft.

Im kinda worried about Battlefield 3 in all honesty. Although BF3's lead platform is the PC, Crytek said the same thing about Crysis 2 and (depending on whether you were a fan of the original Crysis) still ended up as a consolised shooter which lost the open battlefields and gameplay dumbed down for a controller, which can be said about BFBC2 too. So, as a fan of BF2 and the prior games which were far better than BFBC2, im hoping we don't get BFBC2 + 64 players and jets, but rather the original BF games with frostbite bonuses. Lets hope DICE doesn't disappoint.
