Subject: I know the new enemy in halo 4.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

lolno

And yet, who cares that Bear has overloaded Cryptum with evidence that the Prisoner and Gravemind are the same entity, nobody cares about evidence, they believe what they want to believe...

It's pretty clear that you are one of the only people either unwilling or incapable of comprehending evidence and taking your own bias as gospel.

No, actually. They need to not show John's face to keep the fans happy and to show that he is a faceless hero.

He is only a "faceless hero" because Bungie didn't bother showing his face. And as I have seen ever since Halo CE, just about everyone has wanted to see John's face shown.

Bungie made Master Chief the best he could possibly be.

No they didn't, they made him a sterile character who just spouts badass lines.

343 say they're giving him a personality this time, good, now prove at last that he's actually a person and not some archetype we have to put ourselves in without revealing his face.

Why is it such a big deal to you about not revealing his face? He's a human like everyone else, we have a pretty vivid description of him in TFOR, and we even see him in the comics. It's like complaining about showing Isaac Clarke's face in Dead Space. Moronic.

Don't -blam!- with Kerser!

His helmet is his face. If you take that off it will be like looking at a different character.

The Prisoner = Gravemind.

Above post = Facepalm

There is incontrovertible evidence to support that claim.

The Terminals state that Mendicant Bias conversed with the Gravemind for 43 years before forcing itself into Rampancy, defecting to the Flood and betraying the Forerunners. I find it to be far beyond coincidence that the test-firing of Installation 05 at Charum Hakkor - and thus the release of the Prisoner - occurred at the same time and they conversed also for 43 years.

Gravemind states in Human Weakeness that he has consumed many AIs but spared one who joined him long ago, obviously referring to Mendicant Bias.

Primordium's description states that humans call the Prisoner "The Primordial", this is the same name Major John Smith uses to describe the Flood in The Mona Lisa.

The Prisoner is known as "the Timeless One", Gravemind describes himself as a "timeless chorus".

Gravemind states he has "listened - through rock and metal and time", the Prisoner listened to the humans and San'Shyuum at Charum Hakkor in his prison for a very long time.

The last words of the Gravemind is "resignation is my virtue; like water I ebb, and flow. Defeat is simply the addition of time to a sentence I never deserved... but you imposed." The latter part is referring to imprisonment, a sentence he never deserved. The PRISONER of Charum Hakkor, locked away for unknown reasons.

Mendicant Bias given charge of Installation 05 (his serial number was 05-032), the Prisoner stowed away on the Installation he stole - the same Halo we discover the Gravemind on 100,000 years later.

"Child of my enemy," is a reference to Ancient Humanity - the first foe the Flood fought and lost against.

The Gravemind was in containment on Installation 05 and escaped when Penitent Tangent ignored his containment protocols. The Gravemind cannot have been formed after the breakout because there was no sentient life living there.

None of this is evidence.

Actually that is precisely what evidence is. Don't they teach you children the difference between evidence and proof?

Except the prisoner doesn't look like a gravemind at all. Did you finish Cryptum or just skim for the parts you thought were important?

As said before, he could have allowed himself to be infected by the flood (believing the flood to be the next stage in evolution) and thus becoming the Gravemind. However as of now I wan't the Prisoner to be Gravemind, but I am open to other possibilities.

Holy crap. Not to sound like a noob, but where is this information coming from, with the Gravemind and the Prisoner or whatever? Did I miss a couple of books or something? I didn't realize the Halo expanded universe was that deep lol.

I think you are right ...the prisioner is the gravemind...however he didnt give his self to the flood...maybe he just got infected ...
But maybe he somehow even left the halo before the flood arived...and maybe he found the surviving precursors...
But really i was really amazed by you'r theory...Seriously...
But i find that unlikely seriously i wanted the plot to be staged upon humans,foreruners,precursors...Mostly forerunnner-precursor war and i always wanted for both forerunner and precursors to survive.

I have read Cryptum about 5 times. -_-

Guess what the Flood does! It mutates the host; they grow extra limbs, massive bits of biomass start growing from everywhere until the host isn't recognisable anymore.

However, Gravemind does have the distinct head shape of a Euryptrid as the Prisoner is described to look like.

Both have the rounded shaped head, the pincers at the front being like the "madibles" the Gravemind has. Obviously numerous other limbs branching out of him, and the biomass he has assimilated contributing to his size so the "tail" is extended with more limbs and tentacles growing out of it.

I've made a lot of other posts on this matter other times, I don't need to keep reposting. Plus ajw34307 is already saying everything I would say.

But here is why:

Why in the HELL would the flood make their mastermind fight a war for them when there are BILLIONS of them to fight it? That would be like taking your president, prime minister what have you and have him go into war for you. Doesn't make sense does it? Ya, Gravemind is large and powerful but he's the most important asset to the flood. He is extremely intelligent and extremely powerful. Why put him in harms way?

THE IRONY, IT BUUUURNS!!!

But seriously, it is implied that the precursors created the flood, so maybe they designed so IF they get infected they still have control over their minds and can even control the rest of the Flood, perhap they're just to intelligent to get taken over by the Flood mentally? I know this is just an assumption, but it could work.
