Don't -blam!- with Kerser!

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

Hey why can't there be Elites on the shield world Master Chief is heading to? We will never know until it actually comes out.

It isn't a Shield World and the Elites have never ventured outside of the galaxy, which is probably where this sphere is.

It would be quite boring if there are no elites, UNSC marines, or other allies in the game. It would be boring if it was just you. xD I HOPE NOT

Is it really that hard to accept the concept that 343 may be making NEW enemies and allies?

You don't have any real proof either, so your mfw is completely unwarranted.

"Giggidy!" and "Thats what she said!" are the only two terms i need

Im not so sure that the forerunners would be outright allies, if youve read the first book from the forerunner series you'll know that the forerunners arent exactly friends with humans after mahussive battle with humans and sansh'yuum so we could be treating them as reluctant allies or even enemies. just my thoughts on it thats all

duhhh whats halo without elites

This is a example is what Halo fans can't adapt to the changes in Halo.

Such as Reach. Many people complained about it because it was changed too much.

There is high possiblity that Elites, etc won't be appearing at Halo 4.

Like I said, we will probably fight against exiled Forerunners, Precursors, Flood and maybe new alien species. Allies would be Forerunners itself. Remember, Mendicant Bias sent MC to Forerunners for his atonement.

Yep, I do think there will be new enemies and allies. I also think there will be appearances of old enemies and allies too, is it really that hard to understand that concept?

We are all going to get banned aren't we?

Yes because there is no point for them to be in nor a story for them.

This would also mean everytime we get a new story arc the old foes HAVE to be in and if you say "no" then you are just trying to work the elites in.

The Ori story arc in Stargate still had Goa'uld and Lucian alliance in it. Hell even the last movie had Replicators in it, which were supposed to be completely wiped out by that point. The point of these factions returning could not be determined at the start of series 9 either.

S'all I am saying.

stargate is a completely different topic.

It is a TV show and things HAD to be done for ratings, which explains the inconsistent Ancient tech.

while halo needs sales if somebody doesn't buy the game because "X race isn't in" then they shouldn't be playing the game to start with

Well that is the point, Halo still needs its own ratings and sales. If there is not enough linkage to more familiar factions/characters/settings then it risks feeling too alien. This is what probably killed Stargate Universe. It was a really good show (I thought), but the majority of people said that it just did not feel like Stargate.

The majority of fans consider Halo to be Human/Covenant/Forerunner, not Forerunner on its own. It does not matter if that is the actual fact of the matter or not, the majority view it like that. If it is too isolated and unconnected to what people have grown attached to over the years then it risks going the same way that Stargate Universe went. And make no mistake, Microsoft views Halo as nothing more than dollar signs. If the sales/ratings fall, they will stop investing in it. They have no special attachment to Halo like you or I , it is simply for money. If the majority lose the interest, Halo is gone.

We need to start thinking outside the box.

I have been thinking outside the box outside of the posts.

But i haven't seen once shred of sense in the elites being in the game.

I gave you one, stemming from majority opinion being tied to sales, Microsoft's nature as a business and the comparison with Stargate Universe, which was axed due to the falling ratings. (People suspect that it was too unlike Stargate)

Halo 4 will obviously sell, but it will also offer a first impression into the rest of the trilogy. If it does not perform well, people will lose interest. And believe me it has been happening already in some sense with the franchise. All the older members of this forum are gone. This game will have to be special to rekindle interest. As I said before, regardless of whether Halo is actually about the Forerunners, thus making the UNSC/Elites pointless, is irrelevant. In marketing the opinion of the majority is what matters and the majority of fans, from my experience, do not view Halo as such.

I agree

I would just keep the covies as allies like the Elites in Halo 3.That's about it.

We won't be. That would be pointless (And an indication of sour milking in my opinion) However there is nothing wrong with grounding the new trilogy in familiarity by being able to see them again. Who says we have to be fighting them?

As a game franchise, the games must stand up on their own. Most (If not all) reviewers will judge the game as a game, and I am sorry to say it but Halo strikes quite poorly in the characterisation and story department. It relies too heavily on the books for that. Leaving the UNSC/Elites/Covenant out of it would be no more than a cop out.

How have the UNSC (Or Humanity I should say) changed following the events of Halo 3, both in society and technology? How have Humanity taken to the galactic responsibility of the Mantle, rejection or acceptance? How are they getting on with their new allies, the Sangheili? What are they doing about the remaining Halos? Are there Covenant remnants with malcontent towards Humanity? If so, what are they doing about that? What are the circumstances surrounding the last cutscene in Reach?

How are the Sangheili coping and what are they doing? (Remember, people who have only played the games do not know anything about their technology and fleet situation, or the state of their society in general, so are probably under the impression that they own the galaxy now or something [And I have read plenty of fanfics under that premise]) They have had their religion proven false essentially, or at least their version of an afterlife. What impacts does that have? Does everyone accept these truths? How goes their war with the Loyalists? What are their opinions towards their new allies, Humanity, and the heirship and title of Reclaimer that Humanity holds?

What about the Arbiter, who's character is still not resolved? He got publicly shamed and stripped of everything. What impact has that had on his family line? What happens to him now that he returns home? Is he still shamed or rather now held up as the pinnacle of the Sangheili people? Has he got his life back? What implications do the words "Where it so easy" in response to Master Chiefs death have?

I will leave it there, I won't bother with the rest of the Covenant. To just chop off all of that will be seen as poor story telling and copping out.

I don't mind a game explaining those events anton and you know that.

I just don't understand why this trilogy MUST include them.

Because these are very likely to be the last Halo games. You saw that Microsoft press release where they admitted that games not centred around Master Chief were a step in the wrong direction. Also, people are not going to be buying Halo games forever. This new trilogy is going to last another decade. Who knows what will become of the franchise in that stretch of time, or the gaming industry in general.

This is a great explanation of why there will be probably be some covenant involvement in Halo 4. I'm gonna add this to the OP.

they won't be there. I've heard frankie and dan ayoub say "no purple". And even if the elites aren't in the covenant anymore, doesn't mean they change all their tech all of a sudden, especially in such a small time frame, and anyone who has a real understanding of the technology (since the prophets took care of it for the elites during the time they were still in the covenant).

What like these Elites who aren't 'in' the covenant in a Green Phantom? In Halo 3.

which are the separatist that allied with the UNSC.

So is MC going to have an elite tag along the game? doesn't make sense. The only way any elite appearance would make sense other than easter eggs would be another campaign.

and why did you pick the elites out of all the other former covenant species? any other race has just as much chance of being in as the elites so "i don't see why you are only talking about them".

and again if this were to happen this means every "new" story arc would need to have everything from the last ones "just cus" which would be horrible.
