How the heck did the flood survive for so long on the surface of the unnamed shield world without starving as they should have???

Cogito ergo sum.

Cannibalism.

No not really, that was a joke. But they most likely had some alternative source of food. The Flood was designed to take over the galaxy, so they must have been made with some sort of way to survive once they had consumed all other sentient life.

Then that makes the Halo arrays pointless...

The way I hear about the flood (from... The Flood funny enough) is that 'starving them' just weakens them. The halo rings actually would destroy all the combat+ forms of the flood.

Jenkins kept control of his body, and Keyes was about to last so long with the flood because they were greatly weakened from all the years doing nothing.

I could probably ask the same as to how they survived before they entered out system.

Ooooooohhhhh.
Wow, that sucks for everything that isn't flood. lol
But thanks, i figured the flood on Alpha Halo were alive because they had been preserved like other species in the library. So I had no idea the infection forms and such could survive on their own.

Bit of a Fail for the Forerunners I guess, gotta leave it to humans to have to cure the flood twice.

The Flood was created by the Precursors as a punishment to the Forerunners for rebelling. The Flood originally existed as a very fine powder, which before the Halo arrays were built the Prophets and the Humans would put on their pets called the Pheru. This powder domesticated them and made them excellent pets. However, over time the powder caused the Pheru to have growths sprout along their backs. The Pheru would eat these growths and each other after death. Over time the powder caused the Flood to evolve into what the Forerunners built the Halo array to stop.

Cool, thanks for that ^^^
And so the remaining infection forms seem to have infected a ton of covenant when they first came to the planet and grew from there.

For Carnage Apply Within - We played Marathon before Marathon was cool!

Keep it authentic...

Is this about halo wars? If it is I usually insult the game and the people who like it.

The first sentence is still speculation, but speculation with tons of evidence. Everything else was n Halo: Cryptum. Back ignorance back!
