Another reason to buy Vista.....better start saving up :D!

And also, my friend just told me his Game Informer talked about there not being a Halo 3 but something called Halo 360. Is this your next project?

Are we looking at client side hit detection? PunkBuster support for anti-cheat? A netcode that's actually worth using? Easy map making that doesn't require $1000 programs? Basically, is this going to be what HaloPC and HaloCE should have been? Are we going to have developer support that extends beyond the CEO of the company talking smack? Is the game going to be made with professional gamers in mind, or is it going to be made for 40 year old soccer moms again? Don't let us down Bungie/MS. Don't do it again, please.

Game Informer Magazine typed an article saying that Bill Gates has delayed the release of Halo 3 for the 360. It's not a myth anymore, people. If Game Informer is wrong, then we attack together, bring your pitchforks!

PS: check my signature for my site, and see my halo 2 map idea.

Maybe it was Play magazine, but I know I saw it, with a a pic of Mr. Gates and everything. The article was about Halo 3, and how it was delayed.

Man, too bad you guys dont hire some one who actually plays video games with an in depth perception into what actually makes a FPS video game good. You really should hire someone who loves H1 and has played in nationally competitive tourneys. This would help all you old timers, who only know the game tron, look at competitve gaming in a new light. I think you guys at Bugnie got lucky when making H1, as far as how good the multiplayer game was.
H2 would be an average game(sales, reputation) if H1 didn't precede it.
Yet, I am a gamer who plays FPS just for the competition factor, and bungie was not made to just please that "group" of people.

hmm just one question? are you planing on making the map editor strong enough to create models?

oh i think if you want guys that can do map editing tools go to the guys that made halo CE, or contacting blizzard seeing as every game (sept for world of warcraft) had a map editor, even d2 (although i think it was a mod), however the s.c map editor needs an extremely large update, aanyways, why did you start out with h2 on xbox?, pretty stupid move if you ask me

The real question will be if it will be backwords compatable..? Alot of people are gonna want to stick with XP and give up, just because VISTA is gonna be expensive... ANd i have a feelin' that 9 times out of 10 unless you make it for free or something it won't sell for a while if it's nto backwords compatable to win32 and win16. That's one thing i didn't notice mentioned when skimming through the update.

Let me know when there's news on a Mac version. Oh wait, there won't be one.

Cuz Bungie's a Microsoft Hardware Marketing tool. Has been since the day they were bought.

Bungie's dead. I don't know why you people persist in maintaining the same name as the parent organization with which you have nothing at all in common

Stop calling yourselves Bungie. Bungie died a long time ago.

By the time this comes out, it will be a 2 year old game.

Looks like Jo and Matt will be testing the game for a little bit longer since Microsoft said that Vesta has been pushed back to next year. I wonder if Frankie knows about it? hmmmmm.

Thats not realy true, Unreal 2007 requires Directx10 to play, DX10 is released at the same time as windows vista, Meaning it will be about september time possibly, Besides you need a very good machine to be able to run vista itself meaning it may possibly slow games down.

Hey, i have a long background in Halo Custom Edition Modding and i also know most of the questions here will be left unanswered but will probably be noticed. As much as i am excited to hear halo 2 comming to the pc, erm i mean the expensive Mac OSX clone Vista. (not to dis it, OSX rocks!), im just concerned about the Editing Features for the Editing kit.

I know its a high priority to make it easy to use and user friendly for any gamer with a map idea, but that shouldnt take away from advanced modding features such as map scripting, custom character models, custom vehicle and weapon tagging, ability to model, map and animate from other 3d programs such as Maya or the free PLE version, and other professional modeling apps. Halo CE was restricted to 3ds Max only which costs nearly 5k. Open sourcing of the exporters/importers would be great for other community developers who want to port it to other modeling apps. I don't expect as much as what UT2004, or HalfLife 2 Editing kits provide, but just enough to not restrict the indepthness of what a user wants to create or mod in Halo 2.

As for making it gamer/newb friendly, it would be great to have allot of prebuilt map pieces, buildings, bases, terrain editor etc, to be able to snap together in a sapien like enviroment. With this, anyone could just take a bunch of parts like legos and construct an entire map with out needing the the extensive knowlege and experience in modeling and level design yet have a fun decent looking map to play in. Just as long as that isnt the only thing that can be done in it.

Im very optomistic in what can be offered in H2 Vista and If the editing features to prove worth while, i just may consider doing what may be nessary to upgrade my computer to be able to run Vista. I just hope it won't be as big of a mistake as it was when i had to upgrade from 2000 to XP.

Im very excited to get my Halo CE map Chronopolis http://www.halomaps.org/index.cfm?pg=3&fid=1625 ported to Halo 2, just as long as the editor allows that.

I would be very excited to have a say, or even lend a helping hand in the Editing Kit for Halo 2 Vista. Just the editing kit is the one thing Im most excited to hear about. I just hope my voice gets heard by the important people out there.

*tears off head* You are no true VidMaster! A VidMaster would not bite the hand of its lord! You just stood on the Alter of Bungie and swore that there is no Bungie! You are a heretic! Be gone foul demon, and not set one disgraceful toe upon this holy site that is Bungie!

Anywase...
A more "friendly" map creator would be nice, but I hope it isn’t too "user friendly" that it constricts the hardcore mappers out there. I’m talking about the ones who create the superb maps for CE that you swear came from Bungie because they are so good. I also hope that you can import your own BSP from Max or Maya *or your studio of choice *coughgmaxcough*...*

I just don't know why so many people are complaining about "Oh it is only for Vista, oh Woe is Me!!! 7H15 5ux0r5, 175 0n1y f0r M$ V157a!1!!111!!" WHATEVER!!! I'm glad it is only for Vista. That way we have DirectX 10 and SUPURB graphics! Cut out the fat and you get left with the Prime Rib! Leave the fat and you get over-cooked bacon!

Edit: STAY ON TOPIC! This is for Halo 2 PC, not a flippin request line for news.
