Microsoft's viewpoint: "Products with 'Halo' on it sell! Must have moar!"

And in this argument, the only viewpoint that matters is theirs.

Do we need another iphone? ipad? war? taxes?

Bloody hell no, but it's coming anyway.

A soldier is only as strong as the weakest link in his/her unit.

I think the demand for another HALO out votes the small majority that do not.

True.

I would want a Halo 4, but if they're already planning Halo 5 and 6; it's a little extreme.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

It about time someone breathed new life into the series. After that convoluted dichotomy Bungie released last year, i was convinced that they had to go and work on something else.

343 have brilliant writers (Greg Bear, Karen Traviss etc); fantastic level designers from the Metroid series; the composer from MGS (who has some truly sublime tracks) and other talent they've been recruiting since early 2009.

CEA is a great place to start, that's going to be what gets them the confidence of the community and then we've got such massive potential for Halo 4.

So yes, I hope 343 will go above and beyond all expectations.

The Legendary Ending shows the Dawn drifting towards a Forerunner planet. Given what Mendicant Bias tells us in the final Terminal at the end of Halo 3, he is sending John to the Forerunners as proof of his atonement. That ALONE opens up the potential for a whole new trilogy. Leaving John locked away in cryo as Cortana slowly goes rampant is not an ending with the basis of closure...

On the basis of the story Halo 4 is necessary. The Human-Covenant war was a small part of a much larger story revolving around the Forerunners, Precursors, Mendicant Bias and the Flood.

Why does the quantity of games matter? Look at Final Fantasy, Mario and other franchises that have well over a dozen games. If 343 can pull off a good game and do it right, then why should the quantity matter as long as the quality is good?

He's right because we gamers don't need another halo, but microsofts viewpoint is money and halo is one of best selled games ever. But i will buy it anyway because i like halo.

Ya I totally accidentally linked that random gamertag. I don't know what it is. But my real gamertag is curb st0mpd if you wanna check out my stats.

I like the way Halo 3 ended. It can let me believe that it's possible for Master Chief to be the 10th cyborg on Marathon. Just enough ambiguity.

Er... no. Not only have Bungie consistently said that Halo and Marathon aren't (and never will be) the same universe, how would John ever get to the UESC Marathon?

I kinda agree that they're milking this a bit, but as long as it ends with halo 6, i'll be fine with that.

Honestly, the more and more I play Reach, the more hopeful I am about the future of Halo. There's no doubt that Halo is a cash cow, but as long as the milk is fresh, I'll drink it.

Despite what was said about Reach in the ViDoc, the line "We still owe Microsoft two more Halo titles," and the resulting product, just made it seem like Bungie was getting bored with Halo (which is completely understandable) and that they were just going through the motions at that point.

The only thing that really matters when it comes to 343i and the new Halo trilogy is that they have a decent writing staff. Halo's gameplay has been tried, tested, and copied by other franchises for going on a decade now.

I like to think developers aren't stupid, and they know which gameplay elements work, and which don't.

I think the fact that they've planned it as a trilogy ahead of time will aid the flow of the story, as compared to original trilogy, which I'm pretty sure they were just writing it as they went along prior to Halo 3.

Life Is A Gift, That's Why They Call It The Present.

Think of it as a new game but with two recurring characters. It is a new trilogy with some new enemies and allies. I am fully looking forward to it.

“We are the Mirratord. We strike with speed and stealth. Our enemies will not see their deaths. They will not know their fate. In darkness, we will see light. In light, we will see darkness. No matter the location, we will see victory. If we fail, no one will know. Like a ghost, our presence is a mystery. For the honor of the mirratord" join the Mirratord

I would be more excited for Halo 4 if it came out back in 2009 but now it looks like 343 just decided to -blam!- Halo and make everything look like its from that fanfic "Halo Wars"

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

Well, there are seven Halos, we've encountered two and had five games. By my calculations, we'll have another 12.5 Halo games.

Do you know what kind of hat I'm wearing?

A party hat; you don't get one. An honor will this party be, a party in your honor, for your honor. Some of Tfear's personal guards are going to be there. You'll be introduced shortly.

Prepare to die.

UESC Marathon and Legendary planet, can you see the resemblance?

Nobody knows for sure what happens when you're inside a collapsing slipspace portal powered by precursor crystals, maybe it directed MC's part of the ship to an neighbouring universe?

That's how I imagine Bungie planned it.
Although 343 will most likely choose another path to satisfy customers.

I completly disagree, we need something more, to keep playing and not make the franchise' feel old. :L the games 'FPS mechanics' are second to none, they are so simple and easy to use, people dont want technical controls.
