So all in all it was a pretty interesting read. Before I go on, here's a link for the lazy ;):

Inside Halo 2 Vista

It seems that it is a surprisingly small team working on it, at least for the time being, hopefully the advertisement for employment will attract some prospective programmers ready to make the game a reality.

I was really happy about this quote:

First, we don't think of the project as a port; we think of it as the Windows Vista version of Halo 2.
It's nice to know that they are really working hard to bring us PC gamers an entriely unque experience apart from the Xbox version. Not just some quick "port" job. So far it sounds like the map editor exists and is coming along in creation. All in all pretty informative given the fact the game is so far away from completion.

...Oh, and I got a real kick out of this question ;)

Why did you decide to do this version internally? The first game was a big success and it was handled by an outside studio.
HAHAHAHAH. Ok I've had enough fun for one night.

I still wish they would make Halo 2 for Windows XP(Or even Linux). I would settle for Halo 2 for the Xbox to be resold with a map creater.

Stupid parents let their stupid children play games that are rated M when they should be playing Big Birds Spelling Adventures

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

I'm wondering if they refferred to the first one as Halo 2 from Bungie?

Yeah, speaking of which, not sure if you caught this or not, but we had one of Bungie's own come and visit the forums and answer some questions Halomapscouk posed. I just hope I haven't scared him off...

This is not a Fugazi signature.

One thing from the interview bothers me- about the custom content editor thing... the way this was worded it seems like it'll be some kind of Far Cry editor system, and for many pc gamers/modders who edit Halo PC/Custom Edition this sounds bad...

For the record: WE WANT TO MAKE MAPS FROM SCRATCH, not just pull up hills from a plane and add crates and junk. If I want to model my office building and put in Halo 2 I should be able to. This is a NECESSITY for a modern PC fps, and it surprises me that Bungie/MS would be paying some other group to make an editor app when they already have the tools to create everything- Sapien etc. Why not just release updated versions of Sapien and Geurilla (like the HEK included) instead of reworking everything to cater to the masses?
This would keep the quality of new maps higher, because not everyone would take the time to figure it out. Having a million Tony Hawk type maps out there could make the best maps harder to find, and prevent any excellent maps from being widely known or played. Plus it would allow for much more creativity and originality in new maps, which is what keeps people playing for years after the game's release.

PLEASE!! No editor app- give us real tools!!

Easy for you to say, what about the people who can't make their own maps from scratch? Also the map editer in Far Cry is a great tool. Plus only the minority want to build maps from scratch.
