The longer they're in the dark, the better their next project will be!

Not necessarily...

That's a poor example. Production of that game was halted until Gearbox purchased the rights to the franchise a little over a year ago and started to "finish" the development of it.

Videogames, Anime, and Interwebz. I love it all!

But let's be honest. A lot of people were still excited. And development only really stopped when 3D Realms was sued or whatever it was for taking so long.

It's not camping, it's holding the designated location.

Haha yes! And they deserved it. Bungie's "Dark Times" will be more akin to Valve's; although probably not as long...

False advertising? Saying they were working on it, then repeatedly pushing the date back, and then cancelling it.

Half-Life 3 will be out in Year 3000 AD. Let's just hope we see Episode 3 before the end of the century.

They said there is no Episode 3. The next one is the next game. But yeah like you said, 3000 AD

Honestly though, Valve is doing the right thing. They've successfully developed other AAA games and have successfully supported the games beyond their launch. Simply speaking, they've let their creative juices flow freely. Now when they come back to the Half-Life Universe, they'll bring the appropriate experience, creativity and overall mindset that can evolve the franchise; this is something I'm sure Bungie wanted to do as well.
