about the old hummans being spartan like. I think that, its a cool idea and could be true in the game, and in the forerunners eyes it would be hummans becoming more and more forerunner like. Since hummans and forerunners are geneticly very similar as if they should be the same species similar the forerunners would be very interested if hummans followed the same evolutionary path(augmenting and mutating them selfs) as the forerunners did.

Hope that made sense.

While you are on the right path RYAN, the reason behind the Forerunner-Human War was because the humans didn't follow the Mantle. I may be mistaken and Slasher2 could maybe correct me if I'm wrong, but to my understanding that was why they went to war hundreds of thousands of years prior to the events of Installation 04.

Forerunners did not like the Humans, nor the Prophets.

No, the war started because humanity started fleeing and taking refuge into Forerunner territory as a result of their war with the Flood. The Forerunners were unaware of the war the humans were engaged in, and instead mistook the sudden migration of humans into their territory as an act of aggression.

I haven't fully read through Cryptum yet, so excuse my wrong information. Foolish assumptions from just seeing tid-bits of information.

The Humans war against the Flood you mean, Slasher2?

Yea you really need to re-read cryptum.

forerunners and humans had been eyeing each other for an untold amount of time and from how it was worded it seems all the problems stemmed from he arrogant forerunners.

So while the humans were fighting the flood they got pushed back into the forerunner space they normally avoided to get more worlds. The forerunners foolishly thought the humans were trying to war with them and completely ignored the mantle in order to wipe out the humans.

They fought for 100 years and the forerunners won due to the humans circumstance (the flood). The forerunners found out about the flood and the end of that war and the ONLY reason the humans were even kept alive was so the forerunners could get the cure out of them. To ensure that the humans would never "threaten" the forerunners again nor rival their supremacy (think cold war) they split humanity apart into sub-races to ensure they would never be one race again.

Re-read cryptum.

Last left off in discussion whether or not who Guilty Spark was talking to: Himself? Cortana?

When he scans the Pillar of Autumn he scans the Master Chief and then, more specifically, his helmet which was holding Cortana at the time. When the Pillar of Autumn was descending onto Installation 04.

Edit: When he speaks of verifying the Chief's "gea". Mistaking him for a Forerunner?

I don't see what is so confusing and cortana has nothing to do with anything.

All spark said was he would have to check on chiefs Gea, which would have let him know what chief knew.

He knew he wasn't a forerunner, clearly from him scanning the ship records

Out of curiosity. Images aside, what in the dialogue indicates that Spark is solely talking about the Chief. The grammar just seems very jolting for Sparks to be addressing humans in general, then all of a sudden have the line about the gea only apply to the Chief, then reverting back to using a noun to refer to a group once more in the very next sentence.

Wouldn't it make far more sense for Sparks to be referring to the examination of all the humans' geas aboard the Autumn for whatever specific imprint each may have to ascertain their security 'clearance' rather than zeroing in specifically to the Chief and only him while ignoring all others?

If we are to completely ignore the fact he was analyzing only chief then yes i would be in your boat.

but it is the fact he was only looking at chief and ignoring everybody else, which is what i was talking about earlier with there being 2 reclaimer types.
