Subject: No Bloom confirmed for Anniversary

I'm sure the title update will have an option to disable bloom.

So the Anniversary playlist will have no bloom, but the normal playlists will?

That's what I've heard. The Anniversary playlist will have the TU. The pre-anniversary playlists will not have the TU. Someone said if changes in the TU in the Anniversary playlist are popular enough they will implement it in other playlists.

Um, Armor Lock is nerfed. Notice exploding nades causes him to exit the Armor Lock much faster at rate. It means that any force impacted the Armor Lock drains the charge more faster. Therefore, AL is nerfed.

And bleed-through melee is back. Hell yes.

Bloomless DMR? Good!

Um... what? So instead of adjusting bloom if it needed that, they just completely cut it?

Man, can't wait to see the -blam!-ing while everybody relearns the pacing. Or having dead-accurate fast firing DMRs.

All for adjusting bloom or adjusting armor lock. But extremes?

They said you'd be able to play the Anniversary maps as if you on Halo CE. If Bloom was still in the game, that'd be impossible. I MUCH prefer no bloom then some "modified" bloom.

I'm talking general MP.

As they have said several times "We don't want to split the Reach playerbase."

There is no proof of any changes to AL. The person could have exited it on their own. As for the drain, it automatically removes about a third of its charge when you exit AL, but that confused me at first too.

I used to get on these forums back in the Halo 1, anticipating Halo 2 days...I'm back :)

"Confirmed" seems to be a term that's thrown around loosely....

Watch This.

Well to me that was kind of a given, I mean why would they make bloom on a game that doesn't have it?

HCEA MP = Halo Reach.

Anyway, if they remove bloom, everybody will have to relearn the pacing, and the DMR I see becoming the battle rifle only worse.

I would like to have seen the max rate of fire slowed down though. Their will be an awful lot of spray and pray DMR battles.

Why is this in the Universe forum and not the Reach forum with the other million threads titled "OMG NO BLOOM IN TEH CEA!!!"?

Just wondering, ya know.

Then it might actually be difficult to stay alive.

This is gonna suck. The BR all over again. We're all just gonna die because now all you need to kill someone is point'n'spam. And no one say "Bloom was random", because even if it is (which I don't think it is), than it's a whole lot better than dying in around three seconds. That's why the BR was removed. It was too good and no one ever used any other gun.

Sadly, thats where I draw a line of "opinions" and lacking knowledge of bloom system.

First thing, bloom in DMR is actually random and based on luckiness where it awards spammers instead of well paced shooters. I'm glad to see that bloom is removed for classic playlists.

Irrelevant. The goal of Halo isn't to stay alive. Well, in the majority of gametypes, it isn't.

Staying alive helps you complete the objectives. All game types to a certain degree boil down to killing and staying alive. Default Reach makes it a bit too easy to stay alive.

I don't think so. The level design of Reach generally makes it so if you're staying alive long, you're either not involved in the match much, or are dominating your opponents.

Cross mapping is going to be ridiculous, because the DMR has impressive range. Everyone's kill potential just went up drastically, which makes it more of a "who saw whom first" deal. Which doesn't lend to Halo's signature arena combat style.

I'm hoping 343i compensates with movement options to give people better defensive capabilities.

Well you can't get the objective done when you're at the respawn screen can you? Then in slayer games dying give the enemy team points so it's pretty important too.

I guess I just have a knack for showing up at the right time then. I find it very easy to stay alive in this game. Too easy.

That's because every AA is there to help you stay alive.

Agreed. Sprint + 5 shot DMR kills = +1minuted avg. life constantly. You can zip in and out of the action.
