"I don't care if it's God's own anti-Son of a -blam!- Machine or a giant hula-hoop!"

In my opinion, a warning shouldn't be built into the system. It should just be a PM from a moderator. It would do the same amount of good, and wouldn't really affect anything here on Bungie.net.

I really want, as mentioned, many more 3 day bans. Or better yet, a 24 hour ban. Basically, that would be your warning, but it would have a little more weight to it. You either get your act together, or your ban will be, at minimum 7 days next time.

Does anyone even read these?

Warnings don't deterrent my posting behaviour in any way. I can't speak for all users, but for me at least they are pointless.

And a warning wouldn't count as a point but as a learning lesson.
You've had plenty of lessons. They aren't working.
They will never work.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I personally like the idea of a warning being between a mod and the forum user.

But the system here is set up you are punished for being warned and other mods can see it.

Please tell me you don't actually see that as a problem. Even you can't be that full of it.

Other Moderators would be able to view this on your 'moderation history', and you are being punished with an actual punishment. Being told that you did something wrong on the internet, doesn't really do anything to some people. If you deny their access to the forums, and they want to remain a productive community member here, they should come around.

It's basically a slap in the face, or a bucket of cold water being thrown on them.

Just don't do something to get a warning in the first place. Problem solved.

Well I guess other mods HAVE to see warnings but it does affect Judgement for a ban.

but, if a warning is just a simple, hey don't do this anymore, helpful tid bit, should the other mods need to see it?

Becuase a warning being recorded and being seen by other mods and affecting your title and trust skill, it seems like a punishment.

Warnings shouldn't affect member titles. Because of the fact that warnings do affect member titles, it's really not a "warning" at all because you're being punished.
All the more reason not to break the rules.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

Oh, I forgot about the moderator's telepathy that tells them not to ban a user because they haven't been warned at all.

Maybe I will never be
All the things that I wanna be
But now is not the time to cry
Now's the time to find out why
I think you're the same as me
We see things they'll never see
You and I are gonna live forever

But, should warnings affect anything at all?
I'm going to be completely honest with you, I'm not 100% sober atm. Yes, warnings should punish you in some way for your wrong doing. If you dont want yo title reset then you should refrain from braking the rules.

I must of really said something odd for you to suggest I am not functioning properly.

Well, sorry for that.

I was just suggesting that sometimes are PMs okay for warnings.

Well apparently I was wrong and my statement was far too un-intelligent to be discussed again so I will refrain from doing so.

But yeah, I guess that mods have to see warnings for the sake of it.

Then there are the people who poop in the mash potatoes. Those people get launched out on their asses.

Of course the mods should be able to see warnings. We would not be able to effectively make decisions without it.

As far as member titles go, honestly, who cares. I know I personally respect a well thought out OP or reply more than the color of a title bar. Length of time on the site is irrelevant to me if we are having a good discussion.

Yes. If I see that you were warned by another moderator and you've broke the same rule again? You can bet Achilles1108's sweet ass that you're probably going to get bansmacked.

Titles carry a certain status, but warnings are absolutely fine, in my opinion they don't even have to. They're just convenient for YOU, the user. So be glad.

Yeah I see what you mean, it is too bad people who get warnings don't use them as an educational tool and learn from it.

But yeah, if you do something again you were told NOT TO, by all means you should be punished for it.

But, should you be punished for a warning. (trust rating, titles)?

I mean, I know some people here care a lot about titles and all that and warnings can cause titles to leave or make them MORE likely to go.

That is what I think.

But I do know that when I first joined this site I posted an all caps title and a mod simply edited my post and sent me a PM saying "don't post in all caps".

But if I did it again, another mod may not know I did post in all caps before so I see how that could be a problem.
