I think if you get warned twice, it should start to affect your title.

I can't see getting warned once and it affecting my member title.

I say we go back to the way things used to be. No warnings. 7 day bans are your warning.

This would be nice. I mean back in my day we didn't even get bans, the moderators came to our house personally, kidnapped us and left us in the middle of the Mojave with pepper spray still stinging our eyes.
Welcome to New Vegas.
Enjoy your stay.

You're either first or you're last.

You'll never amount to anything, go back under your bridge.

I got banned for signing in on my friend's computer. Coincidentally, that was ban evading, since he's blacklisted. I had no idea. I'm happy it wasn't permanent though, so I guess I consider it a type of 'warning'. Lol @ my account being created in 2006 and having no titles.

Eh, a warnings a warning.. and yes the warnings do show up in your moderation history. I think they should affect your titles, it should teach people a lesson, but it doesn't.

What are we supposed to be discussing here?

"Nothing in the 'Verse can stop me."

Ken, you never cease to amaze me with how personally you back up your arguments with no real points laid out. Your policeman analogy is way off too because the word warning does not transfer that way.

A warning here is like a cop giving you a ticket while being banned here is like getting arrested. Both a ticket and an arrest go on you criminal record and are properly recorded. Also, someone with more tickets is more likely to be arrested for the same offense compared to someone with no tickets.

They way it affects trust is just fine and should be that way. You aren't being punished but you are being scorned for what you did. If you want an analogy you can consider out warnings here a ticket and the possible loss in title the money that goes with paying off the ticket.

You can earn that money back over time by being good and doing your job as well as avoiding future tickets and then all is well.

I hope this whole cop and ticket thing shows how there isn't really an issue with what is happening, you're just mad that the cop pulled you over.

Who cares. The way I look at it, just follow the damn rules and you don't have to worry about warnings, bans, or how they negatively affect member titles.

Hello! I'm Bunie.net's resident medical student (hell i'm sure there are more but I'm the only one who openly declares it!) I love my emblem, and I am periodically active.
I have a Twitter

Warnings are important, Ninja's let a lot of things go, you must have done something stupid to get a warning, it serves its purpose, i got warned for posting cOLD - i havn't done it again!

It SHOULD effect title, you've done something bad, you get punished.

@Helveck

Just an Average Joe...

It's a colored bar with a title that doesn't actually represent you in reality. So why does it matter? Do you think intelligent people are going to look at a title and say "Wow, this guy has X title so I should like him and or listen to him because he's amazing..."?

No. And if you do think that, you're a complete moron.

It's bad enough people think a 7 day ban or break from the forums is detrimental to their internet reputation and that being without B.net for that time is such a massive loss... But to then be concerned about something that means nothing at all? That's sad.

I believe that warnings should affect your title as they do now.

The titles are a way of showing your loyalty and how much you are a part of the B.net Community. TO do something that requires a warning/ban, shows that you have taken an action that is detrimental to the community, whether in posts, or in actions.

Warnings are, unfortunately, necessary. They should affect your title IMHO.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Ken if you want your title back, stop getting banned.

There is the Mythic Group, a group for Mythic members.

Also this
There's also LMO and Heroic members, but those groups aren't dedicated to member titles, the name of the group is just the member title you need to qualify to be a member of that group.

Within those groups rarely any member title discussion takes place.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I don't really care about titles, I just don't think warnings should affect them.

The other half for those who are wondering are threads made by Skibur saying he is leaving.
I've only done that, like, three times...

I'm all for people losing their titles and getting upset.
Indeed. If it didn't happen we would lose half of the topics in the mythic member forum!
Dude we already lost those threads when Achronos came in and told Skibur to stop whinging about getting banned, it's funny that the admin of Mythic Members is probably the one with the most time spent as a regular member while within the group.

Anybody else feel this statement is contradictory?

Well if it is a warning, it should end there.

But, a warning works against you/affecting your title when it should just be a warning.

That was my point.

Just something I have been wondering about.

The Gunman Division: Ace Gunman, xOmega Gunmanx, JT Gunman, xLost Gunmanx, (Op) Lone Gunman, Spade Gunman, Viper Gunman, Ysuran Gunman, BlindfireGunman, Angel, briskit1, dinjitsu2222, and Onobono. No idiots, please!

Warnings should affect your trust rating (and titles) simply because you are doing something that is borderline rule-breaking. Instead of banning you, the ninjas are nice enough to give you a little "knock it off".

But then that isn't a warning if you are punished some how.

Definition:

1. A statement or event that indicates a possible or impending danger, problem, or other unpleasant situation: "a warning about heavy thunderstorms".
2. Cautionary advice

It is to advise someone not seek action against someone.

So it's an issue of semantics. Your lobbying to change the system so that a "warning" no longer means an effective punishment is attached. How about we do away with "warnings" or just call them something else so that you don't get upset when you get 'punished' after receiving only a 'warning.'

Or, just leave it the way it is because it seems you're the only one with the problem here.
