Subject: Halo CE Anniversary? Good or bad?

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

I find this question to be very unnecessary and pretty stupid. HCEA will be practically identical to the original game with updated graphics. Now, ask that question again and see if it comes off as stupid to you. Now, is it a good idea? Of course. Now we have achievements, terminals, co-op over XBL, and new old maps on top of the updated graphics. Still, I think the question is obvious and stupid to ask.

Yes but is that reason enough to purchase this game?...
for a few lousy extra achievements big deal if those are the only selling points I just can't justify buying a game I already own.......

It's not so much about what's been added on. It's more about reliving a great experience that you have so many memories of so you can create new memories. They're not trying, how do I say this, get a bunch of sales and whatnot. It's hard to explain...

I've beat the original plenty of times and don't care for graphics. I'll wait until it's $5.

You're cooooool. Saying you don't care for graphics is an insult. It's like comparing a kid's kindergarten doodle to Van Gogh. People put serious effort into updating this game artistically and you have no idea.

*shrugs*

We should know better, because we are better.

I am getting it. It will be nice to see how far the series progressed in ten years and also the extra content. The terminals look interesting and I find visual terminal much more interesting than several pages of text like in Halo 3.

He's just trying to act all aloof and cool about it. I bet you'll see him playing HCEA a few weeks after launch, if not less.

Of course it is for monetary purposes, but that alone does not bother me.

It seems that 343 is doing a decent job about making it as identical as possible, graphics aside. I commend their usage of the original game physics and inclusion of the ability to switch back. I don't care about the changes to the multiplayer maps because they are just for fun and are non canonical, so far so good. What really gets me angry (just indignation) to the point where I'd receive a ban if I fully expressed myself here is that they are meddling with the perfect and whole Campaign by adding these pathetic "terminals" that link the story to Halo 4 so they can sell their acanonical and blasphemous piece of apocrypha they call "Halo 4". That is my problem with Halo: CEA.

I would actually congratulate them on their efforts with Anniversary if it weren't for that.

I think it's going to be awesome, i do wonder though if they'll put the theatre in the reboot, with screenshot capability and film save features. Along with file shares.

Er... It's the tenth anniversary for Halo, people have been screaming for a HD version of Halo CE for ages and it's not just the same game, we get:
- Remastered graphics, audio and gameplay
- Achievements
- XBL co-op
- 6 new multiplayer maps, technically 12 because there are different versions of them
- 1 Firefight map
- Terminals
- New Easter Eggs

It's not a game designed simply as a "money maker" when they've priced the game at £30/$40, it's a gift to the fans for 10 years of Halo.

All doubt should be gone...

This

Also: the real question should be:

"10x a day the same topic about Halo CEA being good or bad: good or bad?"

Answer: Bad.

I don't see them remaking Halo 2 nor should they remake it. Was one of the best Halo games IMO, best multiplayer that is.

I like how you can get achievements for it. I'd love to show the entire Halo record in my Game history.

While I do think it looks good, I for one would actually like to see some of the things added into the gameplay from the sequels.

For example, the ability to board vehicles, vehicles behaving like they do in Halo 3 etc.

Just tweaks taken from the sequels. Or at least, the option to turn these kinds of things on. Just to customise my experience.

Of course, this is just my opinion. It seems though, from the general feedback that they're doing the right thing in not touching the gameplay. Seems to please the most people. (And that's better than trying to please everyone, since that can't be done.)

You are the very definition of someone who IS NOT a Halo fan. I bet you hated ODST for the same reason too.

I was really exited for it at first. then i become 70% less excited when i found out that it was only 2 player co-op instead of 4.
