Subject: Do Spartans eat?

Just wondering, besides that picture of the holiday party with Jorge and all of the bungie characters. Do they actually go without food for days upon weeks?

No they gain nutrients from Photosynthesis.
/sarcasm

Of course they eat but yes they can go without food for a few days just like soldiers in real life must do sometimes.

Nah, I'm pretty sure the Chief's suit is green from all those chloroplasts.

Since you cannot do good to all, you are to pay special attention to those who, by the accidents of time, or place, or circumstances, are brought into closer connection with you.
Augustine of Hippo

I can't prove it, but I can say it.
Stephen Colbert

i am not shawn from youtube, I created this username because I thought it was an unique name but if I could change it I would since it did not belong to me originally

I in their cryotubes they are fed nutrition in addition maybe their armor can inject nutrients into them rather than only biofoam.

@venomfang
Yes they are pumped nutrients through their bloodstream but they still have to eat something solid on a regular basis.
@ dr russia
People eat. Spartans are people. Do the math.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Of course. They're human. How else will they live?

Hello! You may also know me as Ijnekono. How you have made your way here I do not know, but welcome. (:

Well, I bet their suits are equipped with atmospheric filtration systems linked to an IV. The filter processes airborne nutrients and sends them into the body like food.
This is similar to how some sea creatures get their nutrients.

"There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe."
Gospel of John, 1:1-7

Well hello there Gents and Madams! Are you tired of the consumption of boring materials such as grains, plants and meats? Well boy, do I have a solution for you! MJOLNIR Mark VI is the name, photosynthesis is the game! For just the cost of a small starship, you can feed yourself for a lifetime! That's right! The green color of the MJOLNIR Mark VI is actually the very brilliance of the suit. Coated in chloroplasts, this suit injects energy straight into you (by use of needle) every 4 hours to keep you energized and to kill that pesky hunger pain! But wait, we're not done! That's right, we'll throw in a free next-gen fusion-plasma hybrid power system, atmospheric insertion systems, slipspace de-insertion capability, active AI transfer protocols and an energy shield (Just pay separate process and handling). Free of charge! So come on down to AL GORE'S MJOLNIR GALORE and get you some Photosynthesis Suits!*

*Warning, suit has unintended side effects, such as breaking of bones and tearing of muscles in un-genetically modified human beings.*

The OST for ODST!

Spartans are people too. So yes, they do eat, and I imagine they'd eat quite a lot considering all those calories they burn (given they have the time for a decent meal, of course).

I find this funny.

Yes they do, all humans must eat to gain energy.

Yeah they eat, around 5 Square meals a day when they have the chance.

Maintaining 280 lbs of mass (out of armor...) requires a lot of nutrients.

THERE IS OVER 9000 HALO RINGS!!!!!!!!!!!

If you read the book Halo: The Flood there is a single sentence in which the Master Chief eats an M.R.E. If you don't know what an M.R.E. is, it is a Meal Ready to Eat which contains (I hope it is still the same as now in the future) an entree dish, side dish, a spoon, a dessert, a heater for the food, drink powder, drink heater, napkins, a second drink powder that is either hot tea, hot chocolate, cider, or coffee, gum, hot sauce, and a wet towlette. I highly reccomend trying one, they are really good, if you get a poundcake as a dessert.

When John-117 was aboard the UNSC Atlas, it was mentioned that he was required to consume five high-protein meals per day. He was 14 years of age and in training, but in deployment they can theoretically fast and use the energy in their muscle mass to fuel them.
