"Wake me...when you need me."

I was just over on The Flood where someone posted a humurous compilation of Obama's best gaffs. There were a TON of them and of course, he came off looking silly as do all politicians when these compilations are made of them.

Here is my question: On The Flood, there were TONS of these topics made about other Presidents and politicians. Nobody ever locked these threads or stopped those discussions when the targets were conservatives.

Why are they being stopped and censored when it comes to a liberal? Has Bungie.net become THAT intellectually dishonest or do they just allow people with political agendas to become moderators?

Again, this thread is not about the merits of one political view vice another. This thread is about Bungie taking better care that their moderators are less political or at least more intellectually honest with themselves and their users.

I think putting this inconsistency down to political viewpoint is harsh. He's a sitting president and an inevitably controversial figure. Better to lock it before it gets out of hand.

Conspiracies are fun. Thinking about things for longer than 5 seconds is even more fun.

They're all Obamanites!

OT: I've never noticed this.

I understand and agree. However, there was a huge discrepancy in those forums when other Presidents were sitting in office as well. I was just wondering what the justification was for this.

Again, I am not starting a thread to debate political merit of either side or from any viewpoint. I was just wondering why the harsh treatment towards certain Presidents, candidates and politicians while on the other hand we have what sort of appears to be preferential treatment towards their opposition. It's curious but fairly blatant. It makes me wonder what the screening process is like for moderators or admins.

Well, given the incredibly -blam!- state of the country right now and all the problems going on, pretty much anything about Obama can lead into a political -blam!-storm. And lets face it, 75% of the people on the Flood are either kids or adults who act like kids and say stupid things for the sake of appearing cool.

Past presidents, with the exception of perhaps W. Bush, could be allowed since whatever they did, it's been done and there's not much we can do about it. Whereas Obama's stuff is ongoing and ever-changing (or not).

edit: Hope I made sense there.

Politics are politics and one of the key points of politics is that when someone is agreeing with your views, they are "making sense" and when someone disagrees, they are "being unreasonable".

Therefor, when ANY political thread gets locked, depending on your view it was either too soon, too late, very political, or just common sense.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Figures. I'm honestly not surprised. This isn't just here, either. If a Democrat/Liberal did something bad it'd be okay and the media wouldn't cover it 'cept for Fox News. BUT, if a conservative did that same thing MSNBC and all the other liberal stations would be all over it and condemning the person. It's not right and now we have this in our forums? smh...

Stop. This thread is getting excessively political just with peoples replies, and getting progressively worse.

"I have no words that would do justice to the atrocities you commit to the English language, as well as your continued assaults on the concepts of basic literacy and logical reasoning."

And this is why politics are banned.

A shame, since "watch the confirmation bias" is a fun intellectual exercise to play with all kinds of media.

Complaints about the "other side" not getting locked happen all the time - but always from both sides simultaneously. In end, you'll have to accept that moderators miss things, and you need to report stuff yourself too.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

I don't see how you think they're taking "sides" by locking a thread.
