i think bungie should add a alert button right next to were it says how many frnds are online and are messages.
what this alert button would do is when ever some one replys to your post it shows a link back to it so you can reply.
because i hate have to go back and check my post to see if some one replyed to them.also a lot of other forum softwares use this.
srry for errors

One of the things I would LOVE to see implemented into Bnet.

Hello, I'm Mr AwesomePizza. I like pizza and I'm a man. Reasoning for the name. I like to listen to the classics of music, write poetry, play video games, and much much more. I'm always down for a nice chat, so please hit me up for some conversation.

I like this idea.

Whoo.

I just replied to Keiyoti, but I'm not saying anything directly to him or about him, in fact his very connection to this reply is simply to serve as a random example and anyone else could have taken his place.

So, this is a bad idea.

Why?
Well in case you didn't get what I was trying to say from the above paragraph lemme sum it up, people don't have to say anything relative to you or any of your posts to reply to you, you would just be getting random notifications just because you posted in the thread.

It would serve no purpose, just essensially be a spam box, not to mention any threads you care about you would be closely observing anyway so you would catch any replies made to you.

Not a bad idea, but pretty unnecessary and easily annoying.
I vote NO. there has to be more important things for the webteam to work on for us than that.

Well, if he wasn't checking to see if you replied, then he clearly didn't want to reply to what you said.

I'm replying to MURDUR 587! He'll get a notification because I've used a special character sequence at the beginning of a quote box with his username following it.

I find it incredibly difficult to "observe" a thread that's sky rocketed into the double-digits of pages just to check if someone has replied to me.

I was a finalist :P

Love it. Nice idea zoobkillerninja.

As do I!

A decent idea, needs refinement. For example it may work if you were to have a page on your profile that isn't too dissimilar to the saved threads page. On this new page it would have the last 10 times you have been quoted by another forum user, and a link to each of these posts. That keeps it out the way for those who won't use it but readily accessible to those who do.

10 of course is a completely changeable number. It would all depend on how the code works and what the effective storage of bnet's systems are for something like this.

i dont think 10 would be that bad because it is not like some one is quoting you every 20 seconds for 10 people to Quote you would take a loong time.

It would require changes to the current quote system, as you can edit quotes, change names, etc. To be honest, I prefer the current system where we can break up posts and things.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

I'm neutral on this. I wouldn't use it, but I could see how other people would want this. It's not a necessity, I'd rather see the Web Team do other things.

  • 08.19.2011 2:44 PM PDT

"I don't care if it's God's own anti-Son of a -blam!- Machine or a giant hula-hoop!"

Yep, I want this. I don't even necessarily think that you would need special character to cut back on spam.

However, I find this being quite troublesome if you are the OP. If they can work around that, I can see it happening. Plus, they have a spot all picked out for it. Right where the Halo stat buttons are located. They are moving onto a new chapter, and those won't be necessary any longer.

Also, while we're throwing out suggestions, I want automatic update forums. (Similar to the Facebook news-feed.)

There is a script that loads the forum board every 10 seconds. I can see how you would like this, but I have to say on the faster forums such as The Flood, it's not as useful as you would think.
