Oh, how I wish I was kidding. I see an even more monumental failure than Star Wars Galaxies.

Actually, the management team worked as executives with EA. They have quite an impressive resume.

Perhaps this gaming company has something to offer. They're currently working on an MMO engine - which I'd be interested in seeing once it's finished.

one can only pray that the ferrengi are a playable race...

EDIT:
just did a google search on "Ferrengi." got a ton of hits dealing with Trade Wars 2002! damn that game was awesome.

You know they'd get PKed by every other race out of spite.

Star Trek is good mainly because of the series' deeper episode plot-lines and social interactions - some of the plots for the original and Next Generation were great. The actual action part of Star Trek is rather lame. Flying in starships aside, the only cool parts have been a few run-ins with borg. Star Trek, even from a concept design perspective, is lacking in the individual action adventure perspective.

And I have a feeling the MMO will be exactly the same, minus the good plots.

Yeah, all the cool Klingon Batliff fights sucked major ass. In fact, all the Klingon close-combat fighting sucked major ass.

TRIBBLES!!!!!

Wow, they took the MMORPG geeks and put them together with the Star Trek geks. Pure genius. That accounts for like... almost everyone here.

Good ol' Star Trek. I was always a fan of the Romulan episodes, they always had a good plot. In fact, almost every one of those episodes had a better storyline than more than 50% of the movies out there.

I used to watch Star Trek alot until I started watching Stargate which is my opinion 20x cooler than Star Trek.
I don't like the ship battles in Star Trek. I think they are extremely slow-paced. The ships return bad CGI phaser fire at one half the speed of smell. I also don't like how they keep recycling episode plots.

But that's just an opinion coming from a guy who rates shows by their ships and lazer guns.

You stick to your phasers. Starfleet with -Blam!- you in the -Blam!- with Quantum Torpedoes.

Oh boy, I was a victim of Star Wars Galaxies, it was like an open beta...except you paid 13.95 a month to "test" it. Now we've got Star Trek coming....Line me up with some synthehol please.

Devil is Double is Deuce and Joker always trumps Deuce.

Holy -blam!-. As if I wont have any social life at all after Halo 2 releases, now they announce a Star Trek MMORPG? It's a one-two punch to my school grades. Glad to see i'm not the only Trekkie on here. I can't believe that guy misspelled the name of the Klingon blade! It's spelled Bat'Leth.

naDev tlhlnganpu' tu'lu' !

Yeah. I speak Klingon.

Boldly going forward cuz we can't find reverse.....

You know they'd get PKed by every other race out of spite.

that's what they get for using laser whips when the rest of the universe is using disruptors/phasors. and assuming they do include the Ferrengi, they've got to allow for ear necklaces. at least for the Klingon, anyways.

...the only cool parts have been a few run-ins with borg...Star Trek, even from a concept design perspective, is lacking in the individual action adventure perspective.

And I have a feeling the MMO will be exactly the same, minus the good plots.

i rather enjoyed the episodes with "Q". but i have to agree that the Star Trek universe doesn't seem to lend itself to the "individual action adventure perspective."

i was never too impressed with the Klingon close-combat fighting in Star Trek. i mean, take away the fact that they're Klingons and you're left with a couple of guys doing some herky-jerky fighting moves. you'd figure they could have afforded to have at least one stunt guy versed in the martial arts. maybe that way all the fighting wouldn't have looked so damned robotic. and the chop to the shoulder/side of the neck that Kirk and Picard were so fond of, while classic, was horrible.

Ach! Was ist los?

WARNING: TREKKIE DECLOAKING TO STARBOARD!!

I've got a feeling that this could be a good one, particularly if they bring in the DS9-style action.
