Even though it's pretty cheap, should I buy it to keep me entertained during study hall with friends whenever possible (lol)?

I would recommend it, it's a nice game and good PC shooter too, great to play when you're bored or just want to relax. You do need to adapt to the netcode and have to lead your shots however.

Yes, yes, yes, and yes again.

You should have full confidence in buying it, it's well worth it's price.

Yes, it's cheap in the pricing and you get tons of content just from mods/ the Custom Edition extension. It has easily been my favorite Halo experience to date and would never pass up the opportunity to endorse it. The only problem is a lack of quality servers, but, you can still find a good game.

Something smells fishy...

Yes. Also, there are quality servers. I've found a handful of them, but they're usually pretty busy. When you find a good server add it to your favorites in Xfire (if you have it).

I continue to play Halo: Combat Evolved PC to this day. It's one of my favorite games of all time. Well, actually, maybe it's my favorite of all time.

Cool, and thanks for the replies. And it'll help me stay on my Halo skills in general, I hope. Once school starts, Xbox time for Reach, H3 and ODST will go down dramatically.

It's always running, people always play it.
Multiplayer is free, it's worth the money.

100% free (If you don't count purchasing the game.) and no Steam required. I would suggest you get Xfire for stuff like friend's lists and keeping track of favorite servers, though. (Also free)

Don't get Xfire. Get custom edition and use Opensauce. Xfire taps into d3d9x.dll for it's -blam!-, which OpenSauce has to use. And with opensauce you can have Bloom and Motion Blur. Try THAT with Lumoria Episode 1....Ahh...

I've always been one for usability over looks. OpenSauce PostProcessing is good with the right settings, but, I'd rather have Xfire for all its features such as in game and favoriting servers.

Then again I could just use Steam for my in game chat and sacrifice favorite servers.

If you can't remember your favorite servers when you load up the server list, that's pretty strange. I can count the servers I frequent on one hand.

Very true, but I was mainly meaning the in game chat. :P I do have more people added on Xfire than Steam. It's also just simpler to go to the server on Xfire, double click it, and immediately be at the server instead of going to it the normal way. Truth is, I don't even really do that with Halo, though. xD
